He'd been more than a little surprised when the woman of his heart had tried to lodge a dagger in his neck, but it made sense a moment later. He had changed over the years, his features becoming sharper and more mature, but more importantly, it was all hidden behind an ugly mass of facial hair he'd had no chance to shave.

He'd also like to think that his little trick, taking half a step into the world of shadows, made it harder to perceive details about him, but he'd have to ask her another time.
