Chapter 13: The Dream
I woke up in a dark forest.
Something weird happened, but I can't remember what it is.
As my mind went blank for a second, I finally could remember what I am and what I have to do.
I'm the reincarnation of the first Demon King, I have only one purpose.
Conquer and destroy the world, and become a god-like being.
But my body is too weak.
How could I become stronger?
Hah, it was easy.
Kill and eat.
This is how monsters like me get stronger.
But first, the cocoon is the most important part.
By eating it, I can get the strength that I need.
Why? You may ask.
Simple, I'm the first Demon King, I can get power by eating other being parts.
And the cocoon is something that left from a great being.
I can get at least 30% of her strength.
But my form is the problem, I need to change it.
How? As simple as getting strong.
Killing and eating.
This is how everything works.
Asmodeus, the Demon God.
I, Astaroth, may take your place the next time we meet each other.
Scum.
I can feel that I'm powerful enough to survive for some time.
But there are too many monsters around here.
Heh, this isn't a problem for me.
What are these monsters?
It looks like they are some type of insect with other monsters.
Chimeras? Undeads? Hybrids?.
They are all of them.
I don't know where I am, but I'm sure that this place will help me get stronger.
These monsters look confused, what happened?
It must be because of my scream when I was born again.
Well, what could I do, right?
Anyways, I will start my journey by conquering this place.
(Third person POV)
Weird monsters in all forms possible were surrounding a single being, It had a distorted head, two arms and two legs, the arms were as long as a lance, the legs were like a frog's but bigger, his mouth could open in a way that was never seen, it didn't have neck and 4 weird things were leaving his back.
The monsters tried to advance, but they couldn't move, an invisible force was keeping them down. As the demon approached them, they could feel the force stronger. Death, it was inevitable, they could only mock themselves for being dumb.
The demon slowly chose his victims, killing and ripping them apart, he took their body parts and put all of it close to a tree, after killing most of it, he started to remove his body parts. A horrible scene indeed, as the Demon removed his body parts, he merged the others in himself. He became a horrible chimera, an artificial one, as most of the chimeras were naturally generated by leaving corpses close to each other, this Demon just made one himself, and the chimera was him indeed.
After eating the rest that he didn't use, he turned to the other monsters, even if all these monsters were scary and ugly, the Demon surpassed this, he was the worst one, any inexperienced creature would faint only by looking at it.
The demon opened his mouth, the invisible force went away. The monsters tried to escape, but it was too late, the force condensed in something in the Demon's mouth. After 2 seconds, the Demon let out a scream.
The head of all Demons exploded, everything around it started to shake. And then...
