Chapter 461: End Of Tide
Everyone could see the unusual Charizard. The first thing that came to their mind was: 'Powerful'.
This Charizard had dragon scales all over its body and since it could speak it was a king rank Pokemon. However, it didn't look like a normal king-rank Pokemon. This Charizard was at least tier 2 king-rank Pokemon.
Yes, Charizard was now a tier 2 king-rank Pokemon. It was the first one that ranked up and with its high potential and hard work in Charicific Valley, it had become a tier 2 king rank Pokemon.
Axel gave a soft smile to Charizard's comment and said, "You are always late, Charles. But it is still not too late."
"Charles? Is that my new name?", asked Charizard.
"Yes, from today your name will be Charles. Fly up and destroy everything. Everything here is your domain."
Charizard gave a brief nod and then flew high in the air.
"Guys, stay back!!", shouted Axel to all the soldiers. He knew how hot were Charizard's flames. He didn't want them to melt.
Charizard flew in the air and it opened its mouth. Blue-colored flames started to be created and then it fired up a devastating 'Flamethrower' to all the pseudo-king rank Pokemons.
Every pseudo-king rank Pokemons who got hit by those flames were seriously injured. Most of them died and those who didn't acquired a burnt status.
Charizard's flames had leveled up a lot and it had become very powerful. Charizard might be the most powerful Pokemon in his team right now. The flames which were slightly white in color had changed to blue and white color.
It was a surreal sight to see.
It then noticed Gyarados who was staring at it with vengeance. Charizard immediately concentrated on Gyarados while Nidoking concentrated on Arbok.
The rest of the team concentrated on pseudo-king rank Pokemons. This was now an all-out battle. Wherever Charizard flames went, pseudo-king rank Pokemon would die.
It had become very powerful but it was facing Gyarados. Gyarados was a water/flying type Pokemon. It was a powerful Pokemon and it was very aggressive. It also had many water-type attacks and this was making it difficult for Charizard.
If Charizard was fighting another Pokemon who didn't have water/electric or rock-type cores, then it would have easily won the battle. However, that was not the case.
Yet, even with so many disadvantages, it was fighting very well. It seemed to have heightened its defense and special defense to an unbelievable degree.
The battle went on for 2 hours.
After an hour of battle, Nidoking won and finally, Arbok was killed. It suffered menacing attacks from Nidoking and 'Spinning poison' was the one that took its life. Even though it was a poison type Pokemon and had higher resistance to poison type attack, Nidoking also had a ground type core and it was using that to its advantage.
After the battle with Arbok was over, Axel told it to assist other soldiers with pseudo-king rank Pokemons which helped them a lot.
He could have told it to assist Charizard and it would have been a better decision but he knew that Charizard was not going to accept any help from anyone. It had its pride to protect and it was going to deal with Gyarados alone.
Gyarados was very aggressive. It had higher defense and special defense. It didn't care about dodging or blocking the attacks. It took all the attacks head-on and delivered some powerful blows. Its 'Thrash' was especially very powerful and this had injured Charizard.
Charizard also had the same mentality. It didn't fight with dodging or defending attacks. It fought with pure force. In its mind, its flames were the most superior and they could burn anything to dust.
After 2 hours of battle, Charizard delivered a devastating 'Wing attack' which sliced Gyarados body in half.
ROOOOARRRR
It gave a big roar announcing its victory to all of them. The wild Pokemon who saw the death of their final leader lost all hope of going out of there alive. Some of them started to run from the battle, and some of them bravely stood to face their opponents.
All in all, they were dealt with within 20 minutes. Axel didn't order his soldiers to chase the running Pokemons. He didn't have time to get revenge.
"Finally, we have won and we won in a grand fashion. We faced a lot of adversities, many king rank Pokemons and even pseudo-champion rank Pokemons but we won in the end.
I hereby formally announce the victory of north zone and the completion of the tide!!!!", shouted Axel with a loud voice.

The soldiers started to roar from the top of their lungs. This was truly a miracle. If Charizard had not arrived at the final moment, then all of them would have died. There was no question about it.
Yet, even with so many impossibilities, they had won and lived. This was a monumental movement for all the soldiers in the north zone. They truly respected Axel as their true leader.
Axel may be weaker than Dragon or Agatha, even Clair or Kurt but he was the one who had led them to victory.
Dragon started to help all the injured soldiers and Pokemons but Axel intervened.
"Dragon, can you walk with me to my office."
He had already given Nidoking and Charizard to the nurses for treatment. Fighting with a tier 2 water-type Pokemon was not easy for Charizard. It didn't have any serious injuries but it was hurt.
Nidoking was in the same situation. The MVP of Axel's Pokemon was undoubtedly Nidoking. It was the one who had faced many king rank Pokemons from the start of the tide till the end of the tide.
It may not have been seriously injured but it was tired and it had many injuries to look after.
Dragon followed Axel and then entered Axel's room. Axel went to his bed which was just at the corner and sat on the bed.
"Dragon, you are the one who had more experience than me in these tides. Do you think that I did a good job?", asked Axel. He wanted to know.
Dragon gave a small smile and said, "Axel, you have done a phenomenal job. I don't think that even I could have done half as well as you. You need to be proud of yourself."
Dragon gave a light pat on his shoulders for a job well done.
"Thanks, Dragon", he said and everything went blank.

Everything, from stamina, injuries, and mental pressure had taken a toll on Axel. He was holding all of it cause he didn't want to look weak in front of his soldiers, so he told Dragon to walk with him to his office.
After finding a safe place, he finally fainted.
Dragon immediately called the nurses and told them to check Axel. The nurses did their check and told them that Axel just needed some time to rest and he would wake up after some hours.
Dragon was relieved after he heard that.

The next day,
Axel woke up the next day. The battle of the north zone was over and the central zone had already announced the north zone's victory over the tide. The other zones asked for help from the north zone but the north zone was not in a condition to help any of them.
The first thing Axel did after waking up was to take a bath and then check his Pokemons.
He had received many notifications from the central zone and from his family and friends. He started to call and reply to them.
All the zones were also in the middle of finishing their battles. North Zone was the first to do it so many rumors started to spread. Everyone knew that the general of the North Zone was a teenager and he was not a part of the league.
Charles, the champion was also not part of the league, yet he was given to handle the worst zone.
These 2 temporary leaders were the ones who contributed the most to this tide. Axel was the first to finish the tide battle and Charles took the heaviest burden. So, people slowly started to speak out loud. This clearly showed the incapability of the league.
The function of the league was to handle the tide. Yet, when the tide came to their own doorstep, others had to take the higher responsibility. Gerad was not feeling good about this. This master, Romeo was out for some important business and he had to take all the burns.
Other zones also completed their tide battles within 3 days after Axel finished his. 3 days had gone by and everyone in the north zone was recovering.

"Hector, give me the report. How many soldiers did we lose in this tide?", asked Axel.
They were now in Axel's office and Hector was reporting to him.
"Sir, we got 3 million soldiers from the league. 20000 were from our side and the league provided 200k more soldiers after 200k of ours went into coma.
So, you commanded a force of 3 million 2 hundred and twenty thousand soldiers.
Among them, 1 million and 2 hundred thousand died. 1 hundred thousand are permanently injured and can no longer be a soldier. 1.5 million soldiers are seriously injured but all of them are out of danger and the rest have suffered minor injuries.
So, our death rate is 37.26 %. That is the lowest of all the zones. The South had a death rate of 65%. The East had a death rate of 73% and the West had a death rate of 64%.
This is truly a victory from our side."
"Among our team members, did we have any death or permanent injuries?", asked Axel.
"No sir. Some of them are seriously injured but all of them are alive and can still fight in the future. This is truly a miracle.", said Hector.
Unlike last time, Axel didn't feel disappointed in the result. He knew that he was going to lose some of his soldiers in the war. Cause it was war and people die in wars.
"Thank you, Hector. All the money that I and our team would receive from killing all the Pokemons, give 50% of them to the family of the deceased and permanently injured. Also ask Agatha, Dragon, Clair, Kurt, and others about the money they would receive from killing king rank Pokemons. If they also want to donate the money then I would appreciate it.
If they don't then it is okay.", said Axel.
"Sir, that would be billions and billions of dollars. The amount may also go into trillions. Why should we give all the money to those people? I don't want to be a dick here but we also need money to operate.", said Hector.
"I am doing this for the team. After this tide, I realized that we cannot operate independently if we are only around 6000 people. We need a massive force to deal with the tide.
I trust myself and my team members. I don't want to work under anyone. So, when we donate that money to those people, those soldiers would be attracted to us.
I want our team to be 50,000 strong including me and all of you. After we do this, spread a rumor that I am trying to make a mercenary team."
"That is a great idea, sir. I will do it."
"Yes, but remember. The number should not exceed 50,000. We will increase our numbers in the future but not now. 50,000 is enough for us…. For now."

After all the zone had dealt with the tide, the league announced an award ceremony the very next day. Axel was interested in who would win the first place. He did win first place in the Burbos town but he was not sure about today.
All the citizens of the city and the soldiers that could attend came to the award ceremony. Gerad was the one to give the speech.
He started on how bad the situation was and how valiantly the soldiers worked together to save the city. The speech went on for 15 minutes and Axel was already bored out of his mind.
Finally, the interesting part came.
"….. Now, as per the tradition, we would announce 3 people who contributed the most to this tide. I would like to call each of them one by one and would like them to come to the stage…"
