Chapter 41: Senses in dark

The dancing fire made me dizzy, the dance almost as if hallucinating. Others also slowly started falling under its charm. The beautiful dance of the untamed flames on the walls, my eyes started very slowly closing. They are already laying on the ground, all besides the goblin.

After a couple of seconds, I felt something sticky surrounding my whole body, but after that very short moment my mind wandered off somewhere. Somewhere very, very far. After I opened my eyes one more time with a light shining into my eyes almost blinding me.

I sat my feet on a great field of grass. The plainly green plant was rubbing against my feet, completely naked feet. A sun shining in the sky, a completely cloudless sky. Trees surrounding this valley of plain grass, beautiful sight. Wind blowing through my long white hair like a river flowing through the ravine in the soil. I looked at my hands and the burn scar disappeared, with those hands I started touching my face, and the dirt that was on it before also wasn't there. I felt light, the sun in the sky was warming my skin and clothes and it all made me feel very… Relaxed. I laid down in this melancholy world with no clouds. It felt like silk around my entire body making my body even looser.

Clothes on my body, a purple robe with yellow accents and short sleeves. A sound appeared around me, like droplets of water dropping down a pond. And making it sound more like a beautiful sound instead of just it hitting the water. I took a deep breath of this fresh air. My hair is also laying down like a spiderweb intertwined in between the grass strains. The silver hair reflecting the sun's rays and me breathing this fresh air. But something about all of this wasn't quite right, why am I here? What's the deal with all this? Questions with no answers. I stood up very slowly since the grass underneath felt like a bed, getting up was a struggle since it was so comfortable. But once I did the beautiful plain fell under strong winds coming from right in front of me.

I went in the way of the wind and with each step, far behind the way I went. Dark clouds started manifesting above as if a storm was approaching. Dark clouds with a whirl inside of it showing that lightning is about to fall down. My feet started walking on its own in the direction of almost ashen clouds. The closer I got the closer the world has become, almost at the brink of entering the woods now almost pitch black because the sun was blocked out. The forest itself felt like a different world just one step away, a cold distant wind blew right through my face. A river was flowing down there like a border.

I jumped to the other side of it and when I looked behind, it assured me of one thing. I'm not coming back. The trees looked more terrifying from up close than from afar, they were twister and the holes in them seemed like a face instead of just a normal stump of dark wood. A smile with eyes staring into my soul, but I wasn't afraid of something like this. My feet wandered further inside and tried to follow where the hole in the sky was pointing.

Another few steps further there was something on the ground covered with tissue. White tissue with deep blue colored flowers around it. This is something I experienced, the thing with the person without a face… That nightmare. But it would frustrate me if I didn't go there. So even with this crazy thought in mind I still went to check on the weird thing on the ground. Covered in white tissue. I sat right beside it, right on my knees. Something was sticking out of it making a shape of a mountain with a smooth peak. My hand slowly descended onto it. The tips of my fingers touched the white material and it flew away in an instant.

Underneath… Flora's dead body with vines surrounding it. Dark roots of trees like vines taking her body underneath the ground with each second, each further under. The small spikes in her body and dark blood oozing out of them in a very slow fashion. I looked at her emotionless, the time just stopped. World dark as was before and her motionless body without any blood inside, the dark liquid wasn't real blood. Only the dark deeds that have been done to her body, all those hurtful experiences. Her ribs were very visible, a deep wound on her neck and no clothes on her. I could see her naked dried out nipples. It was an agonizing sight but it still didn't bring me to express an emotion. Most of those left me some time ago… Not all, but most. That bastard Leon, why did he do it to her?

I stood up and left the sight of her destroyed body. Once I made some steps away I heard the sound of something expanding, a quick look behind, and something crazy appeared in my eyes. The body disappeared, instead, a very big tree appeared. Much larger than other trees around, those that were the normal size. That one tree felt three times bigger than the others… "Are those dark trees, Humans? The more pain they endure the higher they become? And that very plain grass field was the realm of the living? Where am I…" This place is somewhere? "Anywhere in the world? What am I even thinking? And… If Flora rose to that size. Was it because of me? Because of me, that pain manifested to something like that?" Another thought completely destroyed my perception.

The crown of that tree, this enormous pain. Created the tree that now creates a nasty shadow above my very being. A great crown of shallow almost black branches. I didn't want to look at it anymore so I just left it and never looked at it once again. "Blame myself? For Flora's death… Maybe. I don't know anymore" I looked at the sky that was completely black and the very same dark cloud that surrounded the sky, the storm that is surely approaching. And be there in almost no time, that cloud right above my head. And an entrance to a cave right before my eyes, an impenetrable dark void as an entrance. The bushes that surrounded the entrance were almost like blades that wanted to kill me. I just went through it not knowing how but without any serious scratches.

I looked in the direction of the pitch black circle as an entrance. Again, no fear. I just slowly started making steps in its way, hearing the gray grass's sound while doing the steps. The grass strains also like small needles that want to penetrate my feet but they couldn't. Right now standing before the entrance and looking into the deep dark hole in space. My face is completely unfazed not knowing why my legs on their own went inside… I didn't see anything, a single thing. Only heard the sounds of my bare feet hitting the rocky ground, water falling down on the raw stone. And sounds of wings in the darkness, bats for sure. No other animal would live in this dark hole. The further I went the less I felt, my sense started slowly disappearing. The smell of earth, sight already lost anyway, the feeling of my feet touching also slowly fading. The hearing also slowly devoured by the lack of light in my eyes. And the taste of my own spit long gone as spit was also not in my body anymore. I don't even know if I'm breathing or not if walking or not, if being or not. I didn't know any of those anymore. The only thing that's left, in the darkness. I don't even know anymore if I see the darkness or it's just there to be. "I don't want to go crazy, how can I not though?" There is just… Nothing. Nothing to worry about nothing to think about. I'm just not there. What a beautiful thing! What an amazing sight! Or rather lack of it! Haha!

"No!" My voice.

"Yes!" My voice.

"No!" My voice.

"Yes!" Mine.

"Just go on! Just run! Fight!" Me? Who is me?

"Where!" I asked myself.

"Where you…" The transmission of my own voice in my mind disappeared.

A yellow grain of sand appeared right before my eyes and slowly started falling down the darkness. It glowed like the sun. I then again felt, something started falling from the sky. It was sand. The whole world around me again appeared, it was the world of sword. The sand with multiple maybe even thousands of blades in the ground. The sun is shining brighter than ever, flowing its energy into my eyes and changing the voidy darkness into the light of day.

I closed my eyes again, the world broke into pieces once again and the thing I saw… Wasn't the dark cave from just now.
