Chapter 48: Goodbye Old Friend

On a beautiful fifty-acre farm the moon could be seen shining through the windows of a tiny house. Coughing noises could be heard in one of the rooms. In the bed, an old woman stared out the window upon the moon. For weeks every time she saw the moon, it brought a smile to her face. Living as long as she did there was an overwhelming feeling that she had seen all that the world had to offer.

Yet her eyes were finally opened, she yearned to see more. Alas, the body was made of earth and eventually we must all return. "Moonlight's Ascension," She uttered with a smile. This was her fate, death by her lonesome on a cold winter's night.

In her last moments, she thought of all those who would be left behind and like all men what will her living legacy be? Will that fellow remember the old grumpy woman who always gave him a hard time?

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Lord_of_sleep Lord_of_sleep

I enjoyed writing this chapter. It ended the little rivalry between Gertrude and Jamie in a sweet manner. So i guess that wrapped up the small county fair arch. As for the chapter's ending who knows what that was all about - Shrugs lol
