"Because of the dwindling numbers of the wild pokemon, the other batch this year that is about to partake in the trial was postponed. We now have to work and think about a new trial that this year's children will partake in. Again this happened because of a particular person in your batch." The old man said while looking at me again.
"Anyway, this time. All of you passed the trials and I'll be announcing the ranking. I'll start at the last placer first up to the 1st placer." The old man said then started to announce the ranking.
"The third place goes to Fera with 431 points." The old man said then pointed a finger to a girl. I looked at the girl he was pointing at.
The girl named Fera was not from our sub branch. She has black hair and pale white skin. She was smiling from the announcement. I can say that her smile was sinister looking.
"As for the second place goes to a boy named Zeon. He gained a total of 434 points." The old man said then pointed to the boy.
Zeon has black hair too with a pale white skin like Fera. He was from a different sub branch too like Fera. I noticed how they look the same like Fera. They must be siblings or something. He also has the same smile like Fera. Those two must be crazy or something.
"And for the 1st placer, we have Rem. His points is a record breaker with a total of 1069 points." The old man said while pointing at me. He looks mad at me while doing that though.
The other children looked at me. Zeon and Fera gave me a smile while giving a look full of interest. Weird brats.
"Anyway, all of you will return back to your clans. Before that the other clan members will escort you to take a bath. As for Rem, follow me. I'll be giving your reward." The old man said. The other adult clan members then escorted the children away while I walked towards the old man.
"So you're here. Do you know how much cost and work I have to do because of your doing!?" He immediately shouted at me once I was near him.
"Um… I don't." I answered.
"That's right! You don't know! Oh Arceus, please help me. Because of you, the island can't be used for the next trials that is about to be held this year. The wild pokemon needs to recuperate." The old man said while we walked to who knows where.
"Not only that but because of you killing so many children which we did not expect you to do, the second part of the trials need to postpone. Well, this is not entirely your fault since those cousins Zeon and Fera are crazy kids too. I already expected that this year will have a few survivors because of those two but I didn't expect that another monster better than them will appear." The old man said while we arrived at a huge tent. We walked inside it, and it was an office.
"The main clan was impressed with your deeds for breaking the clan's record and decided to give you something different from the normal reward a 1st placer should have. When you reached the 900 plus points, you already broke the clan's record. That was some months ago, the main clan's patriarch heard the news. This impressed the patriarch, and decided to give you a great reward. I did not even received this but you actually got one." The old man was blabbering about while taking out something from a safe guarded by a Nidoking and Nidoqueen.
"Here it is." The old man said while holding a pokeball as if it was a precious treasure. Once seeing the pokeball, I was not impressed. I mean, I can get one of those with a few amount of money.
"Don't give that look, kid. The precious thing is the pokemon inside the pokeball. Here take it, and take out the pokemon inside it personally. Also, you don't have to worry about the pokemon hurting you or anything. It was already oriented that you'll be it's trainer." The old man said while giving me the pokeball gently.
"Yes, Elder Moong." I replied then pressed the button of the pokeball. Soon a red color came out and summoned a pokemon from it.
The pokemon has a gaseous body and has a round face along with huge eyes with it. It was a Gastly. It has a different color though. The gas surrounding Gastly was in a dark grey color while it's round face was still black. It's eyes was different though since it's sclera was colored blue inside of white.
Seeing this gave me a shock. I can't believe that the main clan would be generous enough to give a shiny Gastly to me.
"A shiny Gastly!" I shouted excitedly making the Gastly look at my direction.
"That's right. Even I was not given one by the main clan. You're lucky to have one. While I have to clean up the mess you made." The old man said with sorrow. I just chuckled at his action then went towards Gastly.
"Hello there, buddy. I'm Rem and I'll be your trainer starting from now." I told Gastly with a smile.
The Gastly gave me a smile then flew around me. The pokemon looks excited when it heard that I'll be it's trainer. I laughed along with it then was about to touch it but was stopped by the old man's voice.
"Don't touch Gastly. The gas around it's head is poisonous." The old man said making me stop from touching Gastly.
"Ask for it to make it's gas not poisonous before you touch it." The old man continued.
"Can you make your gas not poisonous so I can touch you, Gastly?" I asked him. Gastly happily nodded then I see the gas surrounding it go inside it's head. It then made another set of gas surrounding it's body but this time the gas was colored white.
"Thanks, Gastly." I told it then started touching it's body.
