Chapter 39: Equals

Everyone is waiting for something worth waiting for.

And Dreamer is also among everyone.

He was waiting for a level up and he got one when Liberi killed the Amazon Nymph, with his own skill, Spirit Sword.

And after witnessing the prowess of this skill, Dreamer wanted to ask more about this skill from Liberi.

But as Liberi was extremely exhausted after using this skill, Dreamer decided not to ask about it and let Liberi take some rest.

And right now, he is looking at the remaining 2 beasts that were in front of him.

The 2 beasts were The Tracking Gryphon, and The Mythril Unicorn.

Dreamer decided to fight The Mythril Unicorn first as it was a bigger threat compared to the Griffin who was just a level 3.

But before going straight to fight, Dreamer adjudges to check his body and its changes that took place after rising in level.

'I can feel it! My mind seems to get clearer and clearer after each level up! It's really great! But...what to do with the stat points I got after leveling up' thought Dreamer in his mind while noticing the changes that happened to him after he levelled up. And he was thinking about the stat points that he got after leveling up because he wasn't sure which stat was gonna help him in his fight with The Mythril Unicorn.

So, with no one to ask, Dreamer decided to consult this with Helix.

'Ahh, Helix? About these 10 stat points…can you..'

'It's your call, don't ask me and focus on the beast, he will attack you anytime.' spoke Helix as he interrupted Dreamer in the middle of his question.

'Thought so!' said Dreamer as he already knew that Helix won't help him with his stat points.

So, after Helix rejected Dreamer. He shifted his full focus towards The Mythril Unicorn, who was indeed raring to go and kill Dreamer.

'Looks like, fighting this unicorn with my current stats is the only way to find out which stat will help me in this fight.' thought Dreamer with a determined expression as after seeing The Mythril Unicorn's eagerness to fight he finally made a decision regarding his stat points.

After finally deciding to fight with the unicorn, Dreamer took out a sword from the space bracelet and checked its condition and information through his skill, God's Eye.

'A rank! Nice! I think…this rank should be enough.' thought Dreamer as he started walking towards The Mythril Unicorn cautiously.

After seeing Dreamer walking towards him. The Mythril Unicorn also started walking towards Dreamer.

The Mythril Unicorn's skin was blue in colour and its tail and hairs that were in its spine were of purple colour.

There were some strange patterns carved too in his 4 legs.

And the last thing which was also the most troublesome part in The Mythril Unicorn was the horn that was placed in its face.

By the name of the unicorn, Dreamer came to a conclusion that this horn must be made out of Mythril, one of the strongest materials present in the universe.

All in all, this Mythril Unicorn is gonna be a tough opponent for Dreamer with his current skills and fighting prowess.

The Tracking Gryphon was watching all this from behind but after seeing The Mythril Unicorn get ready to fight he too started moving from his spot and decided to join the fight.

But as soon as The Tracking Gryphon can come closer towards The Mythril Unicorn and Dreamer. The Mythril Unicorn made a loud roar which not only stopped The Tracking Gryphon but Dreamer too.

And after The Mythril Unicorn's roar The Tracking Gryphon also let out a roar of his own but it was many decibels lower compared to The Mythril Unicorn.

And after hearing The Tracking Gryphon's roar, The Mythril Unicorn became somewhat angry and let out a louder roar than before and that too in an angry manner.

And after hearing The Mythril Unicorn's anger filled roar, The Tracking Gryphon completely stopped in his steps and stood at the same place where he was standing before.

On the other hand, Dreamer was getting very confused after seeing all this, but eventually he figured out what these 2 beasts were doing.

'So they were talking! Griffin must be saying that he wants to fight too with the unicorn and then the unicorn refused his help because he wants to fight on equals. Pretty manly or horsely or whatever, but it's a cool thing.' amused Dreamer as he figured out the talking between the 2 beasts and started walking towards The Mythril Unicorn again.

The Mythril Unicorn also started walking towards Dreamer.

And after a few more seconds, Dreamer and The Mythril Unicorn are standing face to face with each other and the distance between them was just only 10 metres.

The Mythril Unicorn is standing on his four legs and his one Mythril horn is facing forward towards Dreamer.

Although Dreamer was nervous, nevertheless this time he was confident in his strength as he has risen in 5 levels in the last few days and He was also carrying an A rank sword with him.

And when Dreamer and The Mythril Unicorn finally came face to face, and when their eyes met with each other, Dreamer with a smile spoke in a vehement tone.

"I guess, it's high time for me to do some fighting!"

Dreamer said this and swung the A rank sword he was holding at the Mythril Unicorn but the Mythril Unicorn easily dodged it by moving a little bit backwards.

And when Dreamer was still struggling to adjust his footing, The Mythril Unicorn dashed forward in order to pierce Dreamer's heart with his horn.

But Dreamer instinctively leaned back which made The Mythril Unicorn's attack move past his heart but still his horn left a scratch at Dreamer's left shoulder.

'Damn! He is fast! So his agility is high! Let's see his strength now.' said Dreamer to himself while defending and dodging The Mythril Unicorn's attack.

Dreamer was saving himself from The Mythril Unicorn's horn by the A rank sword.

And he was also trying to attack the unicorn but the Unicorn was so fast on his feet that it was dodging every damn time.

'I see. So he only has his agility as his defense and his mithril horn as an attack.

Good thing, I didn't use Leather Skin otherwise I wouldn't be able to see the strength of his horn which is too much as it just touched my shoulder and by the amount of pain I am feeling, I think that it got dislocated' thought Dreamer as he finally figured out the strengths of The Mythril Unicorn.

On the other hand, Liberi was feeling very angry at himself and at The Mythril Unicorn.

He was feeling angry at himself because he wasn't able to help Dreamer as he is taking some rest.

And he was angry at The Mythril Unicorn because it dared to harm his lord.

But Liberi can only watch, as he is in no condition to fight.

So, he was very keenly watching the fight between Dreamer and The Mythril Unicorn.

And the more he watched the more confused he became.

'Why isn't my lord using any skill?' thought Liberi as Dreamer was only dodging The Mythril Unicorn's attack but due to The Mythril Unicorn fast speed Dreamer was unable to dodge its attacks completely.

'What are you trying to do, my lord. I can't disturb him by asking this. Dammit!' said Liberi in his mind as he was getting impatient and worried about Dreamer.

And after 5 minutes Liberi was not able to watch the fight between Dreamer and The Mythril Unicorn so he finally spoke with Dreamer through his mind.

'My lord! I am joining the fight and we will kill him together.'

'No! Don't even think to do that!' replied Dreamer in an angry tone as he dodged another attack of The Mythril Unicorn which was aimed at his torso, but the attack still scratched Dreamer's ribs.

'But…my lord! You aren't even a swordsman and this is your first fight! And fighting against such an opponent who is faster and stronger than you is almost a suicide! My lord, let me help. Please!' urged Liberi as he really wanted to help Dreamer in this fight.

After hearing Liberi's urge Dreamer felt a warmth inside his heart as he became very happy to know that Liberi cared about him this much.

So after barely dodging another attack of The Mythril Unicorn he replied Liberi.

'Liberi! I know you care about me! But as this unicorn refused to take help from Griffin in the fight I will do that too. I will also fight alone. If this unicorn can be a prideful being, then I can be too. Or do you want me to look like a coward who is taking help from someone after he figured that he will lose?

And also you don't have to worry I won't lose! So just lay down and enjoy the show.' ordered Dreamer as he briefly explained to Liberi his reason for refusing his help and started to fight again with The Mythril Unicorn.

On the other hand, after hearing the reason that Dreamer gave, Liberi felt guilty and angry at himself.

'Why didn't I think of that? What was I trying to do? My lord shouldn't be called a coward! Never! I am sorry my lord! From now on, I will make sure that I understand all your intentions so that such type of blunders shouldn't happen again.' spoke Liberi in his mind in a resolute manner and then he again focused his attention towards the fight between Dreamer and The Mythril Unicorn.

The same scenario is taking place right now too. Dreamer barely dodges the attacks and The Mythril Unicorn easily dodges and attacks Dreamer and gives him scratches all over his body.

'So, just agility and strength is your main thing. Guess it's time to make my move then.' spoke Dreamer in his mind and then while barely dodging again he continued.

'System, add all the stat points that I got after I levelled up to level 7 in agility.'

[ Ding ]

[ 10 stat points successfully added on Agility ]

And after a few seconds.

"Ha ha! That's what I was talking about!" said Dreamer loudly as after his agility increased by ten points he successfully started to dodge The Mythril Unicorn's attack and that too while smiling and laughing too.

The Mythril Unicorn, Liberi and The Tracking Gryphon were shocked after witnessing this. As before Dreamer was just struggling and barely dodging the Mythril Unicorn's attack and now he was dodging them like flowers and while smiling and laughing too.

Although Liberi knew that Dreamer has a system with him, nevertheless he still found it fascinating and he was feeling excited too as he got a feeling that Dreamer is gonna pay back The Mythril Unicorn in double the amount.

Dreamer liked this feeling. He was amazed by the results of raising the agility by just 10 points.

'My lungs feel so light. I feel like my feets are moving in the air. It's amazing! Now all that is left is to see whether it's enough to take this unicorn down or not!' thought Dreamer as he stopped smiling and turned serious while looking towards The Mythril Unicorn who was coming at a fast speed towards him.

And when The Mythril Unicorn was just about to pierce Dreamer's stomach with his horn, Dreamer moved to his left side successfully dodging the attack.

And then before The Mythril Unicorn can even register what happened, Dreamer shouted from behind him.

"Stop for a second and turn around!"

The Mythril Unicorn, The Tracking Gryphon and Liberi became very confused by this as they can't understand what Dreamer is trying to do here.

Although The Mythril Unicorn was still surprised by Dreamer successfully dodging his head on attack and coming behind him, nevertheless he still stopped and turned around to see what Dreamer was trying to say.

And when The Mythril Unicorn stopped attacking and finally turned around to see Dreamer.

He was again surprised because Dreamer did something that shocked not only him but Liberi and The Tracking Gryphon too.

The thing that Dreamer did that shocked everyone present there was that he stored the A rank sword that he was holding in his hand, back in the space bracelet.

"Now, listen carefully, you one horn, slim rhinoceros! Before our fight you were faster than me, way faster than me..and now I am faster than you, but as I am also a manly dude, I kept the sword back..and gave you a handicap. You can fight with your horn and attack me and I will fight with my fists! And now…" said Dreamer in a loud voice as he made fun of The Mythril Unicorn and while taking a fighting posture, he continued speaking with a smile and in a grim tone.

"We are really fighting as equals!"
