Chapter 15: Chapter 15. Flesh Golem (1)

"Hey, Rick, when is this Tirus coming to join us? How strong is he?" A girl with red hair asked Rick who was standing patiently.

"He will be here any minute now!" He answered, seemingly irritated by the red haired girl's impatience.

"What rank is he? What's his talent grade?" She asked after thinking for a while.

"He is a peak of rank 2 acolyte and has a knight level constitution, he also has grade 5 talent, so don't find unnecessary trouble with him." Rick replied dully. He had the same professor as Tirus, but Tirus rarely ever spoke with him and whenever he did, he would only talk about transfiguration.

Tirus wasn't aware that due to his talent in transfiguration as well as his habit of staying buried in his studies for months has earned him the title of "The transfiguration prodigy" among the acolytes of crimson bone academy.

His mentor, professor David, was quite proud and even boasted about his student's comprehension ability to other professors occasionally.

A few months ago, Tirus started putting some of his focus on potioneering as well, which caused his mentor, professor David, to be a little displeased since bitting off more than one could chew was stupid, but his progress made his mentor let him study potioneering alongside with transfiguration.

After a few minutes, they saw a young man with a tall, lean yet sturdy physique enter their vision. The young man looked to be around 15 years of age with wavy brown hair and brown eyes as well as a prominent jawline.

On his right shoulder was a 60 cm tall black bird with blood-red eyes. Its black feathers were like sharp blades while its yellow beak looked as it was made of gold. This was the young man's contracted beast whom he had named Hawke.

"I'm here, sorry for the wait." The boy said nonchalantly, showing no sign of sincerity in his tone.

"Nah, we are okay, no problem Tirus!" Rick said with a wry smile on his face.

This young man was, undoubtedly, Tirus.

Tirus was a genius when it came to transfiguration, coupled with the fact that he could also refine potions, he had become someone every acolyte in the academy wanted to have good relations with. So, no matter how insincere his apology was, Rick could only accept it.

"This girl here is Bilan, a rank 2 acoly…"

"Hey! I can introduce myself!" Bilan cut Rick off before he could give her full introduction to Tirus.

"My name is Bilan, nice to meet you. I am a rank 2 acolyte and know 2 spells along with my family's knight breathing technique and sword technique." She said with a proud smile on her face.

"Okay, Bilan, you sure do have a good name!" He said with a charming smile which made Bilan blush once again.

'Hehe, how cute.' He thought.

Ever since Tirus had entered the academy, he had become too much focused on cultivation, so he thought that a little excercise in the name of a mission wouldn't do any harm.

'Now, I should focus on completing the mission!' He thought as he asked Rick about the mission.

The mission was to gather the eyes of pink hilly bears. At least 100 eyes are required.

The pink hilly bears were quite peaceful by nature and were easily scared, coupled with their extremely fast speed, it was quite difficult to hunt them.

.....

On the hills near the crimson bone academy,

Thousands of pink hilly bears were warming their bodies up by basking in the sunlight.

Above them was a huge black bird flying, but the bears didn't seem to notice it at all as it was under a concealment spell. This bird was Hawke and currently, it was sharing its vision with Tirus.

One km away from them, three acolytes hid their presence as they started formulating a plan.

"There seem to be thousands of pink hilly bears, they are resting for now." Tirus told Bilan and Rick the current situation.

"Oh, maybe we can complete this mission sooner than I expected!" Bilan said.

"I have learned a spell that can create a gigantic wall of fire."

"Then Bilan, you restrain them, subsequently, I and Tirus will kill them." Rick gave Bilan his plan.

"Okay."

"Okay."

Both Tirus and Bilan agreed to the plan.

In a blink of an eye, both Rick along with Hawke and Tirus appeared among the pink hilly bears.

"Fire wall" Bilan cast a spell which caused a 10 m fire wall to appear around that group of pink hilly bears, trapping them inside.

The heat was very high. If one were to try to escape from this fire wall, then the only fate awaited them was death, that is, unless they were at the level of official mages.

Soon, sound of bears wailing could be heard coming as Tirus and Rick pierced through the heads of tens of hilly bears instantly.

"Hah!"

"Shirek!"

After all these years of cultivation, the speed at which Tirus attacked was now as fast as bullets.

Even Rick was a little surprised by Tirus's attack speed.

.....

After a while,

The three of them returned to the academy and redeemed their rewards.

"Hey, Tirus, what is your dorm number?" Bilan asked Tirus with a playful expression.

Hearing that, Tirus smiled and whispered in her ear

"No need."

"Eh?…o...okay!" Her cheeks turned as red as a tomato as she ran all the way to her dorm.

"Okay, Rick, I'll now take a leave, if you ever need to buy potions, tell me." Tirus said to Rick with a smile on his face.

"Hm, okay, but will I get a discount?"

"No."

"Hehe, I knew it, don't worry I wasn't serious." Rick said with a wry smile.

"Well…hey, Tirus, I don't need potions for now but can you refine a flesh golem for me?"

"Hm, a flesh golem?" Tirus thought for a bit.

Transfiguration was a subject that focused on creation of new life forms and their modifications. Although Tirus had never created a flesh golem, he had seen his mentor do it several times, this was also one of the ways for transfiguration experts to earn magic crystals, but the process of refining a flesh golem was quite costly and so hardly any people wanted to buy it.

The flesh golem invented by the magi was a kind of alchemy life form. This method used the flesh and blood of various creatures as raw materials. Although it might be a little inferior in strength compared to those steel Golems, it made up for this deficiency with its recovery ability that other alchemy golems did not have.

In terms of the control mechanism, the Flesh Golem completely abandoned the method of the implementation of virtual souls.

Instead, It adopted a process where a tinkered real soul was inserted inside the Golem as the control mechanism. And by implanting a real soul into the Flesh Golem, there was a certain chance that some of the characteristics of the used creature would be preserved.

Therefore, it was even possible for the flesh golem to possess certain instincts of the subject.

"Okay, but you will provide the necessary materials, and I'll charge 50 magic crystals if the creation of the golem succeeds." Tirus said to Rick.

"Okay, no problem, when can you start the refinement?"

"Whenever you want me to, but not today." Tirus answered almost immediately.

"Okay, then tomorrow evening." Rick gave Tirus a time to which Tirus agreed.
