Chapter 20: Interview 2

"Congratulations Mr Rook you're hired!" I said happily.
"Really! Thank you so much Mr Parker!" Rook stood up and hugged Peter.
This is the 4th candidate that I interviewed. So far all of them have been hired. Mr Rook has been hired because of his smarts and good heart. He always donates money to charity organizations like St.Judes and orphanages when he gets his paycheck. He has been fired for donating to the poor by his boss. Apparently his boss dislikes his kind nature because as a scientist, you don't need to have compassion towards test subjects.
Yes you heard what I said, test subjects. Mr Rook has been working for a biotech company that went down years ago. The biotech company has been test experiments on innocent people without their permission. Of course they were caught red handed by the military. The CEO of the company was killed and all of the remnants of the company has been in hiding. The company was called Syntec. Which doesn't even sound evil at all.

Since then, Mr Rook has been in hiding. Then he found this. He decided to give it a try and look at him now, a scientist at Arasaka Corporation.
After calming him down, I told him to sit down with the others behind the green screen. He was confused until I showed him.
"Why do I need to sit here Mr Parker?" Rook asked.
"I have to tell all of you something. We have one more candidate , after that you guys can come out." Peter said.
"Okay Mr Parker." Rook complied.
"And don't make a sound. I'm looking at you Charlotte. I heard you fart just know and the whole thing was almost ruined." I looked at Charlotte, the second candidate that was hired.
Charlotte blushed," I—it wasn't me boss. It was Miya who farted." Charlotte pointed at Miya.
"Hey! Don't blame me. We all clearly heard it from you!" Miya said back.
Charlotte sunk down, "Fine. it was me who farted. But i tried to keep it quiet I swear."
"Well you did a good job at that Charlotte." Wesley, the third guy who was hired.
"Oh shut up Wesley! You almost laughed out loud!" Charlotte was now very embarrassed.
"You guys should stop fighting. The final guy is coming. And he's a man." Peter said.
Charlotte and Wesley controlled themselves and kept quiet. Charlotte was a MIT graduate as well she was in Class Alpha same as Wesley, her boyfriend and Miya, her best friend. Wesley graduate with three PhDs, Physics, Rocket Science and Nuclear Science. So you could imagine how good he is. It took him a lot of time and a lot of coffee but he did it. Charlotte however has 2 PhDs, Physics and Chemistry. It also took her a long time but she did it as well.
You think PhDs are easy. Fuck no, it takes time, a lot of coffee and motivation to keep going. You could imagine how Bruce Banner felt when he was getting all 7 seven PhDs.
Rook was a very ambitious man in the past, very ambitious that he got 5 PhDs. Physics, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Radiology. You could imagine how high of a position he had when he was working in Syntec. He was a precious pawn for the CEO, Nelson Syphus. When Nelson found out that Rook was donating money to people that are in need of it. He immediately fired him, he doesn't need kind people working in Syntec.
When all of them are quiet and seated. We heard a knock at the one way glass door.
* Cool automatic door sliding noises *
"So satisfying!" All of the people behind the green screen thought.
"Hello. Welcome to the interview. Please sit down and let's start." Peter said happily.
The man looked at him and said with an angry voice, "This is a waste of my time! I hope you fail miserably!" The man said and left without looking back.
"Yeah fuck you too" I thought in his head unknowingly saying it out loud.
"Uh boss? Did you just curse?" Charlotte said popping out of the green screen.
"Did i said that out loud?" I asked.
"Yes you did.You said it very loudly." Charlotte said mischievously.
"He deserved it." I grunted.
"That he did. He didn't even sit down" Wesley came out of the green screen too. As did Miya and Rook.
"He just missed a great chance. Now i believe i have to tell all of you something." Peter said.
" So what is it?" Miya asked.
"You see that camera over there?" I pointed to the camera.
"Yeah what of it?" Miya asked.
"That camera's recording." I said trying not to smirk.
"So what?... Wait a minute that's recording us?!" Miya asked surprised.
"Yep. Every single interview. That camera recorded everything." I said.
"And why is that recording us?" Wesley asked.
I showed them my phone which has the Livestream on.
"Wait? Has all of this been fake?" Charlotte was starting to get angry. She has come all this way and work this hard just to get scammed.
"No! You're all hired. This is just a Livestream."
I said.
"Thank God we weren't scammed." Charlotte breath out a sigh of relief.
"You think i scammed you guys? Then what was the ad for? For a prank?" I asked them shocked that they would thought of that.
"Yeah. We kinda thought that this was too good to be true. But we gave it a shot" Wesley said.
"Well clearly you guys don't trust me. Why'd you guys even come here anyways?" I asked them.
"Well. I came because of wanting to get an actual job." Wesley said.
"Same." Charlotte said.
"I came here because i wanted to make a better future for people." Miya said.
"I came here because i wanted to." Rook said.
"Well all of you have your own reasons of coming here. So i won't judge." I said.
"And i should end this stream now. So yeah, stay tuned for more Arasaka. Pre orders of the 3D printer will be out soon. We just have to find a place and some peopyto make it for us. So yeah. Goodbye!" I ended the Livestream and the camera stopped recording.
I then turned to my employees, "Well we have a lot to do. Miya, mind presenting all those ideas you have for Arasaka at the meeting room?"
"Sure Mr Parker. " Miya said happily.
