Chapter 53: More ghoul than Ashley

Ashley intertwined her hands in front of her as she awkwardly rocked back and forth with her eyes lowered to the ground. 'He must've not eaten for a very long time.'

'I'll let him have this one,' she went on to think, but when she rose her head to tell Taranis the woman was all his, she found her cradled in his arms, sleeping well in his lap with her face buried in his veiny neck.

Ashley's heart became heavy at the sight and she thought of ripping the woman piece by piece from Taranis' embrace but she controlled herself, holding back her anger and jealously.

She bit down hard on her bottom lip until it bled and clenched her fists so tight that her nails pierced the flesh of her palms.

Seeing how Taranis was weakly smiling at the woman in his arms, she concluded he somehow knew her, but...Ashley's eyes widened when the realization hit. The golden blonde hair, the beautiful face, the fair skin...it couldn't be!
