Chapter 7: A Night Out That Turned into A Night Mare

"Well, it is her birthday, and she is an adult and I believe that she can behave herself. However, young master, I need you to promise me one thing: stay out, that's alright, but make sure my daughter is home and don't you dare do that thing, okay? Kids these days do the unthinkable."

"Thank you, Mr. Mendes." Dylan ate all the food on his plate for the first time.

"Rayme, then let's go. Mr. Mendes, I promise you that I will return your daughter home safe and sound."

"Alright then, if something happens, do give me a call. I will be there in a minute as long as you don't leave the town."

The conversation between Dylan and Rayme's dad ended like that. Even though Rayme said that it would be alright even if her father knew about them but she was scared after hearing all the advice he gave to Dylan. It was obvious that the words he said before were the reason behind why my parents developed that much of trust about him.

"What do you want to do?" Dylan asked after getting in the car. Since Rayme was taking time to think about where to go, he decided to put out his suggestion.

"Shall we go to the night market, You always said you wanted to go?" He asked.

"Okay, but are you alright with going to a place like that? I have known you for a long time now. I know that you are not the type who likes places like that." She said, knowing how much he hated being around people.

"It's gonna be alright, don't worry." He patted her head.

"Lets go there then. I will buy you a lot of things." He drove off to the place where the night market was. Even though they were there pretty early in the night, the place was already crowded with people.

They both got off the car and waited a moment before they stepped into all the people. Rayme and Dylan made sure to hold their hands so that they won't get lost while shopping for stuff.

As they continued to explore the stalls one by one, their hands started to become flooded with bags and bags of items. Regardless, they both made sure to explore all the food stalls. They both returned to the car with a bunch of bags and drunken from all the sweet items they eat there.

"This place is so good, we should come here more often." Dylan said while trying to catch his breath.

Even though Rayme managed to be back to normal from the tiredness, Dylan seemed to be still out of breath.

"Would you like to drink some water?" She offered her water bottle to him.

"Yes please," he quickly grabbed the water bottle and drank it until it ran out of water. "Do you have more?" he questioned.

"Try this." She gave him one of the sweet drinks. Without thinking twice, he inhaled about a litre of it.

"I honestly don't feel good Rayme. I am feeling this endless thirst. No matter how much I drank, my throat still feels dry. I can't explain how I am feeling right now, but it is suffocating that I wish I had died." He went on describing about how he was feeling.

"Alright, don't worry. Calm down for now. I am going to take you to your parents, even if I am going to get into some trouble with them. I want you to move to the passenger seat, so that I can drive you to your home."

"Do you think you can come here?" She asked him. She was trying so hard not to panic knowing that it would make the situation worse. Since she didn't even have Mr. and Mrs. Night's phone numbers, she couldn't even call them. Though she could reach out to his phone considering how he was behaving, it was not a good idea to reach out to his pockets.

She opened the doors to move him to the passenger seat, but the moment she opened the door, he ran out of the car like he was afraid of something. Dylan ran into the dark streets where no one seemed to be. Rayme knew that she had no choice but to go after him.

Though he was fast as a horse, she ran, following her instincts. She shouted out his name at the top of her voice to find where he was, but there was no answer.

But right when she was walking past another dark street, she heard someone panting. Someone was struggling to breathe. Her legs were shaking while cold sweat began to roll down on her face. She mastered up her courage and went into the darkness.

To her it was not a dangerous sign cause it was Dylan who came into her sight, but it scared her as she had no idea on how to carry him to the car. Since she knew that she shouldn't be calling an ambulance, she was completely hopeless seeing him in that state.

"Dylan, can you hear me?" She asked, bending down.

Since there was no response, she forced him to stand up. Though he did stand up, he didn't raise his head, and he continued to tremble all over.

"Dylan, look at me and tell me what is wrong so that I can do something about this!?" Rayme was literally begging him in her words. She was scared, but for his sake, she continued to keep her heart from panicking.

"Take me home," he finally said.

She put his arms around her shoulders, but what happened was the complete opposite. He raised his head and looked into Rayme's eyes. His eyes were ruby red and the way he continued to look at Rayme was creeping her out. It was almost as if it was a blood-thirsty monster who was standing beside her.

Though she wanted to let go of him and run away, she couldn't. Her body was stiff that she couldn't even move a foot.

He pushed her against the wall all of the sudden, making her head bump on the bricks. It was as if he didn't care about her at all. Dylan kept staring at her eyes trying to breathe, the force he was putting on her blocked all the chances for her to escape.

His lips reached out to her neck, giving her a kiss, he licked her neck making her completely hopeless, but she stayed as it is because she knew that she won't be a vampire just because she is bitten by one. Dylan placed his sharp teeth on her neck and pushed them into her skin.

She wanted to scream, but because of the pain; she ended up pushing him away. He seemed to have come to his senses a little more than before.

"Let's not talk about what just happened. You are going home!" She dragged him to the car. She drove his car straight to his house and helped him out of the car, and carried him to the door. Rayme's heart was beating so fast when she was knocking on the door. No matter how many times she tried to match up some sentences, she couldn't do so.

Since the door wasn't opening, Rayme cried out to Mrs. Night, since she was always the first to wake up.

Within another few minutes of waiting, Mrs. Night opened the door. She stood there, stunned by what she was seeing.

"Where were you two?" She asked even before talking about her son's condition.

"Mrs. Night, I can explain." Rayme said. "But before everything you need to take a look at Dylan's condition, he doesn't seem to be alright."

"Let's take him inside first, then." She came to me and relieved half of the weight Rayme was carrying all this time. She made her son sit down, though Rayme was panicking she didn't seem to be panicking at all.

"I will go and get his dad. I did not prepare us for this today at all. Also, don't worry, we knew that there was something going on between the two of you. I don't really mind that, but it is better if both of you don't go overboard."

"Right now, I want to tell you to leave the house, but I can't do that because you are a girl. Stay in the living room with him and don't let him bite you. Can you do that?" She asked.

Even though she was already bitten by him, she decided to keep it a secret, hoping not to make the situation worse.

Mr. and Mrs. Night came back to the living room, all this time Dylan just stayed still without making much noise.

"What is your blood type, Rayme?" Mr. Night asked all of the sudden.

"AB," Rayme replied.

"There is a favour we would like to ask you, but you can choose to say no. We are fine with that." He continued.

"Can you please let him bite you? I promise you that it will not harm you in any way or turn you into a vampire like the legend says. Can you please do this favour for us?"

How desperate they were could be seen through their eyes and Rayme was ready to be bitten by him a couple of times during their relationship, but she waited, not knowing what to give as the answer.
