Chapter 53: The Good Die Young, Part 1

I wasn't sure if it was the screaming or the smell of something burning that pulled me out of that short sleep--a sleep too quick to have provided me with the required 'short rest' that initiated a new save point--but hearing someone cry, "Healer!" made me bolt to my feet.

My half-open eyes caught sight of the blue glow atop my pile of things, which was when I noticed two things. First, it was three in the morning, a time that realmsverse scholars have dubbed the witching hour, particularly because of the large volume of random events that seem to occur during this hour mark. Secondly, there was a notification on my bar that detailed a new quest from Mistress Lorelai.
