Though he found her inquiries to be somewhat off-topic, he didn't seem to mind.

"I used to be a woodcutter. Each morning, I'd start my day by brewing a pot of coffee before heading off in my white 4x4. I'd been working there since I was 18, right after I dropped out of university."

"How did you end up becoming a woodcutter, or is that too personal?" Jeni asked with a hint of hesitation.

Lucius turned to her as she was resting with her eyes closed and sighed.

"It just happened. My uncle Reni had the company, and he was like a father to me after losing my parents at a young age. He helped me stand on my two legs and grow into the man I am today."

"I'm sorry for your loss," she said, recognizing the emotion in his eyes, and she gently offered her condolences.
