Chapter 7: A Magical World
One of the other kids from the group looked my way in pity. "It's rare to see a giant around here, especially one as odd looking as you. Are you a mutant variant of sorts? Poor thing."
I ignored the brat and made my way to the kid that was being beaten by the group before arriving. "Kid, are you okay?"
"I don't need your help, please leave me be and go on your way". The kid replied.
"If that's what you want sure, but i'm not trying to help you, I just need a guide and information. I'm new around here".
The kid got up and dusted himself off. "If that's all you need, I can help".
The surrounding kids looked like they were going to protest me taking him away from them until I threw a nasty look in their direction "Get lost, or I won't be nice".
The kids all ran off, one of them yelling back as he ran. "That's why the giants are near extinct, your race doesn't know it's place".
Ignoring them once again, I looked at the kid. "Kid tell me everything about this world, mostly tell me about current events and the things that stand out the most."
The kid looked at me strangely but nodded his head and started to tell me everything he knew. Apparently the kids name was benny and he was a fae, according to him, I was in a world of mixed races and magic. Not long ago some humans from an alternate dimension came through a thing called 'the gate' from a place called Japan and were in the middle of a war with a nearby Kingdom.
I had vague memories of this world from an anime called Gate. The show centered around a typical Otaku Japanese man named Youji that helped save lives when this world came through the gate and started slaughtering Japanese citizens. He later got promoted in the Military and lead the troops to this world to try and understand the situation and build good relations with the locals. Only they were attacked time and time again by the Imperial army.
The gate acts a bit like my timer, it connects two alternate worlds together, only the portal is always open. With my timer, I could have come to either world considering they are both an alternate Earth.
I remembered in the show that many people died because the Imperial King started the fight with the Japanese. I wasn't a hero, but I could save a lot of people from death if I helped out. This world was filled with many different races that fascinated me and would love to bring back with me. Plus the possibility of learning magic and having a trade with the Japanese sounded good to me.
I thanked Benny and told him to not let others bully him anymore before telling him to get away from the area due to the possibility of fire dragons attacking soon. It didn't seem like he believed me, but I did my part in paying him back by letting him know of the future I knew. That's all I could do for now.
I started heading towards the direction of the gate that Benny had told me about. I had probably walked for almost a full day before reaching it. As I got closer warning shots were fired off by the Japanese rifles. I could easily take on some bullets, but I wanted to have a good relationship with them so I put my hands up in surrender, before sitting down on the ground criss cross style without moving. If they chose to shoot at me now, it would be very bad for them.
I waited for about thirty minutes until I heard the sound of a Military ATV heading my way. Looking up I saw a soldier poking out the passenger side with a gun pointed at me as they drove closer.
When they stopped the atv in front of me, the driver yelled out "nani ga shi tai desu ka?"
I had no idea what they were saying, but decided to just tell them my reason for coming. "I would like to end the bloodshed and give you information you may not have. Maybe we could be friends as well Youji?"
I didn't know for certain if the person I was talking to was Youji, but only two characters from the show ever had the guts to make contact with beings like me, and Youji was the main one, while the other wore glasses. This guy wasn't wearing glasses, so I thought id try my luck and it seemed to pay off, because once he heard his name he looked shocked and kept saying a bunch of stuff I didn't understand.
I spoke to them again. "English, does anyone speak it?"
Youji perked up upon hearing a familiar word. "English?"
He then spoke to someone near him which headed back to their base. I had thought that most Japanese learned English in school, so I was a bit surprised that nobody here could speak it. Eventually the person that had left came back with a translator and they asked me what I wanted, so I repeated myself to them.
The translator relayed my words to Youji and then spoke to me after hearing his response. "2nd LT. Youji has said that we are interested in any information you may have and we will consider friendship based on what you can tell us. He also wants to know how you know him".
I smiled "I don't believe I said I knew him, I just asked to be friends".
Once Youji was told my words, he had a confused look on his face.
The translator spoke again after he told her what to ask me. "What is the information?"
"I have lots of information, the first bit of information is free, after that, I expect something in return from then on. First, the Imperial King is the one behind the attacks of Japan, nobody else in this world is involved. The people you guys slaughter everyday are just following commands. They don't realize they are just sacrifices for their Kings lunacy."
The translator spoke to Youji and then looked back to me "We will speak to our higher ups and get back to you, how can we reach you in the future?"
"I'll be back in this exact spot in three days time, we will talk then",
The Japanese soldier nodded and after relaying my words to Youji, they all headed back to their base.
It was time to go back home. I opened a portal and stepped back through to Wall-E's universe. Thankfully the pilot to the ship had not gone anywhere yet, but sadly it seemed the pilot had died from too many forehead flicks. I felt bad and made note to reign in my strength a bit more in the future when it came to friendly's. Considering he could no longer use his ship, I decided to keep it, using his ship once again and flew it to what I assumed was the Antarctica on Wall-E's earth. I then left the ship and used my timer to step through a portal to stargates earth.
I planned to come back for both the ship and eve later.
I wanted to use the second earth stargate to give me an idea of how far along Star gate command is. If the earths second stargate works, it means that they haven't started using the first one yet, but if it doesn't work, it means they have already started using their stargate. Both Stargates can't work at the same time on the same planet.
I dialed one of the planets that was stored in my head, after all the chevrons were locked in, I waited as nothing happened. It seemed that they were already in possession of the first stargate.
I opened a portal back to wall-e's planet with my timer and then moved the stargate and it's dialer to the ship, before going back to the Stargate earth.
I then used my new ancient knowledge to find the Ancient outpost located in Antarctica. I didn't want earth to ever find it and then later try to find Atlantis. I also wanted them to have as less Ancient technology as possible, so that they will be happy with whatever ancient scraps I trade to them later.
