Chapter 88: Chapter 87: Ken's thoughts
Shikuro's team immediately started to move towards the capital of the Land of Fire where they would meet the merchant who was supposed to deliver goods to the Land of Water. Jiraiya did not leave with them and instead would take an alternate route to prevent anyone keeping an eye on them from knowing about their plans.
'Pakura of the scotch release. Huh was not that the beautiful green and orange-haired woman that was reanimated by Kabuto during the fourth great shinobi war.' Ken thought
'If I am not wrong, She did not hate Suna for betraying her as much as she hated Kiri for ambushing her. Even in death, she was quite loyal to Suna. Not to mention, she had some student in Suna whom she adored and who even managed to cancel out her reanimation jutsu.'
'Bringing her to our side would be pretty tough. I hope my cuteness and young charms manage to sway her. Itachi's stoic look and Kabuto's boring look would not help to sway her much. Shikuro's bacteria body and Jiraiya's pervertness might make her choose to go rogue instead of joining Konoha. What would they even do without me? They are really blessed to have me on their team.' Ken praised himself for a few more minutes before thinking about something else. He had nothing better to do while they traveled.
'While we can make it look like Suna hid her or she has gone rogue, there is a problem there. There is someone else who can use this opportunity to their own advantage. In fact, there are two such individuals who can take advantage of this situation. One is Danzo who would surely get to know about this since grandpa is his bestie who tells him everything and the other person is Obito who would get to know about it if Zetsu is spying on the meeting.'
'The fourth Mizukage should not be controlled by Obito yet. After the third Mizukage killed Juzo then only Obito started controlling him. And at that time Itachi had joined Akatsuki. So there is still plenty of time before Obito tries to control the fourth Mizukage. I am pretty sure then the Mizukage would become even more bloodthirsty than he is right now thanks to Obito's influence. Obito would take this opportunity to weaken Mist by ordering the hunt of kekkei genkai users through the Mizukage. He would also try to use the Mist forces to damage the other villages' forces too.'
'Obito can still cause chaos by letting the other villages know that Pakura is alive. I am pretty sure neither Grandpa nor Uncle Shikaku had taken a third party witnessing the scene into account.'
'Let us just hope that white zetsu is scared of Jiraiya since he can use sage mode to sense him and thus would not go near him. Or he should not be interested in this meetup as he must have deduced that Pakura would likely die from so many shinobi ambushing her unaware. As for Shikuro's team, they were just escorting some merchants nothing important to spy upon.' Ken could only hope Zetsu does not screw up their plans since he could not sense Zetsu. The only thing that Ken could use to his benefit was knowing about Zetsu's existence and abilities.
As for Danzo, Ken knew that he would not do anything harmful to Leaf to the extent that it leads to other villages attacking it. All he might do is ask Hiruzen to give Pakura to ROOT to protect an important asset and to keep her existence a secret. Also to keep an eye on her so that he doesn't betray Leaf.
But Ken would not let such a thing happen. Danzo that old one-handed pervert had to go over his dead body to get his hands/hand on Pakura.
'I wonder what excuse Rasa would make for Pakura's death. Well in the anime, After her death, Rasa and the other elders of Suna had pinned the blame on Iwagakure for her death. They would probably do the same for the death of both the mist shinobi and Pakura. Konoha is allied to them so it would be pointless to blame us. The lack of Pakura's body might be suspicious but since she has a kekkei genkai it might be assumed that her body is taken for research purposes.' Ken deduced from his memories of the anime.
'Speaking of her Kekkei Genkai, I wonder which one is stronger my lava release or her scotch release? If I am not wrong, Scotch release can drain the moisture from an opponent's body. It is the combination of fire release and wind release. Contrary to fire release and Lava release, it at least managed to kill some people in the anime.' Ken remembered how most of the shinobi managed to dodge fire-release jutsus and even lava-release jutsus.
To be fair, the only jutsu that managed to kill some shinobi was lightning release. (A/N: Kakashi Wink Wink)
'My Lava release has more versatility and more applications than scotch release. But the Scotch release has much more power. Just staying near her scotch fireball might start evaporating the water inside a human body. Terrifying. But it has its own weakness. Water-style jutsus are much more effective against scotch release jutsus than against Lava-style jutsus.' Ken thought about how he could defend against a scotch release jutsu and just like that they arrived at the capital of the Land of Fire.
