Main Character Pov~
That was a rather fun match, to be completely honest. I was really afraid it will become rather boring, but I was not disappointed with my Opponent, anyone else and his team might have won. Too bad he was facing me though.
Totodile also had a lot of fun, that last battle levelled him up. I took him to Nurse Joy who healed him right away, I also met that trainer I fought. Zachary in the infirmary, his Pokemon also needed some healing.
After Totodile was healed I went back to my Trainer Room just in time to see the next round begin. The break time is over it seems, I watched the match in anticipation. These matches are undoubtedly going to be more and more intense with each round.
I am last on the list, so I suppose I have to wait for a while before my turn comes.
It was already 3 PM, surprisingly. It took roughly 4 hours and a half to finish the first round, thirty minutes for the break to end.
I brought out totodile in my personal Lounge and let him sit and watch the next matches with me, I looked at his stats and decided to allot the points and see his current improvement.
As expected, with the system and with the EXP from battles he gains levels pretty fast.

I really like what I am seeing.
Level 74 .... That's a fairly decent jump. I got 11 Levels worth of EXP from that battle.
I am happy with those improvements, its also going to give Totodile a lot of experience for the future.
I smiled as I spent the next couple of hours watching the next matches alongside Totodile. I was honestly enjoying this tournament a lot more than I originally thought I would.
I am hoping that Totodile will reach at least Level 100 by the time we wrap this tournament up, there is still the second, third, semi-finals and finals left to go over which should be enough to atleast get a decent levelling montage. The Totodile's S - Rank Potential and relatively low level is coming really handy so far.
You know, all of this makes me realize how lucky I have been so far. Getting a Shiny Legendary Pokemon as my starter is one thing, but getting a freaking Groudon is another. I objectively have one of the most overpowered legendaries at my disposal, with Raikou, Shiny Mega Aggron, Corviknight and Absol I already believe I am more than capable of participating in a tournament between champion ranked trainers.
I don't know if the top tier trainers have a whole team of Champion Ranked Pokemon, but if they do then Mega Aggron won't be enough considering that some of them might have Mega Evolution.
I still have two Legendary Pokemon at my disposal which is more than enough a trump card, but thinking about all the commotion they will cause.
Legendary Pokemon are deities, mythological beings in this world. It is said that people are considered extremely lucky if they saw a single Legendary in their lifetime, let alone have two legendaries in their team.
They are sort of like a Pantheon, Pokemon Deity Pantheon. Everyone has their role, Arceus probably acts more like a Primordial Progenitor rather than a King of Gods. You could argue the same for Dialga, Palkia and Giratina. Similar to how Chaos plays his role in Greek Mythology or how Shiva plays his role in Hindu Mythology, despite their unquestionable superiority they let Zeus and Indra take the Position of 'King of the Pantheon'.
Arceus doesn't seem like the type of Primordial Entity to rule the universe as its king, it sort of leaves all duties to the deities.
Each Legendary Pokemon has their own role to play in the universe, and I honestly don't think they even are remotely interested in each other. Except for a respective Trio Group of course, otherwise why would the creation trio let something like Necrozma and Eternatus run free?
I wouldn't be surprised if they simply didn't care, Legendary Pokemon all have different morals and personalities. In Pokemon it is pretty much confirmed that other worlds exist, so other than the Pokemon World there is possibly infinite amounts of Pokemon out there and all kinds of Mythical, Ultra Beast and Legendary Pokemon.
The Pokemon world itself is a huge mystery that remains unsolved and unexplained, all that we know is that Arceus is the creator who holds everything together.
It's kind of funny how early the Pokemon Franchise introduces the literal God of Gods among Pokemon so early. You would normally expect them to introduce him as a final boss addition or something.
Arceus may be the progenitor, but I don't think it necessarily means that all other Legendary Pokemon particularly fear him. I think some may even try to challenge him to prove their might at some point.
It's unknown whether there is only one Arceus or what level he is at. Some Legendaries are said to be over millions and billions of years old, so they are probably at insanely high levels due to their immense lifespan and experience.
I wouldn't be surprised if some surpassed Level 1000 or even 10,000. I just hope I don't come across any of these Overpowered Legendaries any time soon, my Groudon was too young, and I honestly doubted he would beat much older Groudons in a one-on-one fight. Raikou is an example of what 140 years of Legendary Pokemon Growth without any training does to a Legendary, he literally reached level 452 without any training in his whole life.
He told me that he reached Level 300 when he was 10 years old under the possession and slowly rose up to 452 whilst being possessed. When he reached Level 400, he was around 70 years old.
That's absolutely insane to me, all that in just 140 years and no training whatsoever, makes me really scared at the thought of a Legendary Pokemon that had been alive before the dawn of human civilization. What if one of them trained? That's an even more frightening thought.
I was definitely far from being able to face a 100-million-year-old Rayquaza, Pokemon Trainers are really weak when it comes to the food chain and power system of the world.
The truly exceptional ones are those that have Champion Ranked Pokemon or Above. One said person is nonother than Professor Oak himself.
Only time will tell how strong Pokemon Region Champions truly are though, some might prove to be exceptional among their peers, but I doubt they match up to a full-fledged Legendary Pokemon though.
I can't help but wonder how powerful Leon is, the Self-Proclaimed Strongest Champion in the world. Though I have a hard time believing that he is stronger than Red, Blue or Professor Oak.
Let alone people like Tobias, who are absolute wild cards. He literally showed up to a tournament of noobs with an overpowered team of Legendaries. Ash only managed to barely beat Darkrai and Latios because of his plot armour before being crushed, I doubt he will beat them in this version of the world where fiction becomes reality.
He won't have Plot Armour to save his ass this time, the writers didn't want to make ash look like a complete chump. Yet they did that when Pikachu lost to Snivy after managing to fight against Legendaries like Regice and Latios.
They really messed up badly with that, later Articuno showed up and beat Ash's whole team alongside Gary and a few others in Pokemon Journeys, including a Pikachu that had fought with two legendaries.
Effortlessly in fact, poor Ash won't have the same luck with those two Legendaries this time around if Tobias shows up. Especially with this whole Levelling, Ranking and Potential System around.
As I was musing in my thoughts, I ignored the tournament as both Sabrina and Brock had successfully defeated their opponents.
Eventually though, I had to push these thoughts aside as my turn had come, which I had realized after I saw the next match up.
I walked out of the lounge and began making my way to the Arena Field entrance.
As I stepped closer and closer, eventually reaching my destination I heard the announcer introduce my opponent, making him make his entrance and crowd cheering for him.
Next up was my turn, I walked in as the crowd's roared even more intensely as I made my way in as the Announcer kept calling me 'Dark Horse', please stop being so dramatic.
It's not like I am hiding some sort of huge secret, oh wait. Yes, I am hiding a secret, sort of...
I came face to face with my Opponent, who seemed to have a rather dead serious expression alongside some sort of weariness.
Seems like my first battle really cemented my place as a top contender.
I chuckled as the announcer had officially announced the beginning of the battle.
~ One very uneventful battle later, May 2cnd Tuesday 5:24 PM~
" ELEKID IS UNABLE TO BATTLE! TRAINER'S JACOB'S GASTLY, MUNCHLAX AND ELEKID HAVE ALL BEEN BEATEN! THE WINNER IS AYRON AND HIS TOTODILE! THIS HAD BEEN A TOTAL ONE-SIDED MASSACRE! TOTODILE HAD COMPLETELY DEFEATED ALL OF JACOB'S POKEMON WITHOUT ANY SORT OF DIFFICULTY! THE DARK HORSE STRIKES DOWN ANOTHER CONTENDER USING ONLY ONE POKEMON! WILL THIS STREAK CONTINUE? OR WILL SOMEONE FINALLY BEAT TOTODILE ONCE AND FOR ALL? I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT I CERTAINLY CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT! THIS IS THE END OF THE SECOND ROUND, THE THIRD ROUND, SEMIFINALS AND FINALS WILL BEGIN TOMMOROW AT 10 AM, SEE YOU ALL SOON!" The announcer said with complete enthusiasm as the crowd cheered extremely loudly, I had also heard a small group of a newly formed fan club repeatedly cheer my name.
Pokemon Trainers apparently have online fan club followings and extremely high prestige and privileges depending on their performance, appearance and background, who knew?
I did some web searching, and I am being called rather 'Unfair' by some people online for using my Apparent 'Strongest' right off the bat. If only they knew...
I am actually doing them a favour by using Totodile and none of my other Pokemon. Totodile was literally my weakest Pokemon.
I chuckled as I made my way back to the Lounge to grab some of my stuff before going back to my hotel to rest after withdrawing Totodile.
The fact that I have a Regional Starter Pokemon seemed to really make a lot of people interested in my actual identity since most of them seem to believe that I am a complete mystery.
My name really started spreading after this victory, two continuous victory streaks using one Pokemon in a Super Rookie Tournament is not unheard of. But its extremely rare when somebody completely unknown happens to be the one responsible, its usually a massive bigshot or heir who come from a strong lineage or background.
My fame isn't that large, but I was already recognized as a possible top tier trainer in the future using my feats thus far, according to the media. Which brought a lot of prestige to my name. The Top 4 are the ones getting the biggest recognition out of the Super Rookies in this tournament.
The rewards and privileges you get from the league are dependent on your overall performance, which includes your rank as a trainer.
As I exited the coliseum, I noted how everyone maintained a distance and seemed to take pictures of me for some reason.
Goes to show how important the Super Rookie Tournament is, in this world Pokemon Trainer ship is the highest paid job, but the highest risk and the lowest success rate.
Some people seek to hire talented individuals with the highest potential to become veterans and high rankers among trainers for their organizations or missions. I have been avoiding such people, I really don't want to interact and deal with them. I thought wearily as I eventually made my way back to the hotel and apparently people seemed to recognize me everywhere I went now.
At least in this city. For now, I have definitely surmounted myself as a Top Talent by merely making it to the Super Rookie Tournament,
I changed my clothes and laid down on bed as I viewed Totodile's new stats, which hadn't really changed that much. Gaining only 7 Levels this time around from defeating Jacob's three Pokemon.
I allotted the Points and observed the changes.

Totodile had ascended to the AA - Ranking territory, which explains how he fodderized all the rookie Pokemon of that team, poor Jacob.
He was a bit weaker than Zachary, so he wouldn't have made it even if Zachary was the one who faced him for this round.
Totodile completely sweeped his whole team, none of them were above Level 65, which spelled complete doom for them.
Judging by how the bracket seems to go, Brock will end up facing Sabrina for the Semi Finals if they keep winning as easily as they had so far, Sabrina was also seemingly thrashing her competition with one Pokemon so far. The winner will fight me in the finals.
Meanwhile, Brock was only pushed to his second Pokemon. Both are considered among the top four contenders for winning the Super Rookie Team along with Zachary and the Bulbasaur Trainer.
One of the Top Four had already been defeated by me, the apparent 'Dark Horse' of this tournament. Out of all of them, Sabrina is the one who is most fangirled and fanboyed by the media and crowd.
I could understand, in a world where everyone is good looking, Sabrina was considered Top Class. She would put most models to shame with her appearance, she also always has that Cold expression, elegant aura and aloof personality, she was what the media calls an 'Ice Queen'.
Brock was more of the Adventures and Wild type, who also happens to be a pervert at the same time.... But he was the son of a gym Leader, the same as Sabrina.
Zackary was apparently a famous idol in Saffron City, the Bulbasaur trainer was the heir of a famous corporation. They all had some fancy backgrounds.
I would have called them 'Cheats', but I feel like that would have been hypocritical of me.
Considering the Pokemon I had..... All of them are an abnormal bunch.
I found out that Absol trainers were rare, not many people have Absol's but its not like they were completely uncommon. 1 out of 75,000 trainers have the chance of having an Absol.
A shiny is usually 1 out of a 500,000 per region, this rating can change depending on the Pokemon Species.
The Pokemon world itself has around a population of over a hundred billion people divided across the world, which is crazy but considering the immense size of the planet is somewhat makes sense.
If anything, a hundred billion is rather a small amount for a planet over 2,600 times the size of earth in diameter.
The number of how much of those are trainers are unknown, but
Totodile and Corviknight are less abnormal, Royal Regional Starters are usually reserved for talents but when it comes to percentage around 1 in 250,000 trainers have one of those.
Pseudo Legendaries are even more rare however, as only one out of 1,000,000 trainers have one of those. Most of these are estimations are calculations found in the Official Pokemon League Alliance website.
Legendary Pokemon don't have any sort of statistic, which is understandable. They are literally Deities in Pokemon skin, they can't be determined or measured in any way when it comes to these things.
I was able to figure out that Mega Aron and its evolution were said to have extremely rare appearances almost ten times as rare as normal wild fully evolved pseudo Legendaries.
A shiny Pokemon in this world is apparently worth an entire fortune, equivalent to an entire mountain of gold in this world, which is the average worth for low level shinies, the higher the potential and the stronger the species the higher the value. Such Pokemon are often protected by the league.
According to the website, Shiny Pokemon are only born when they have an extremely powerful lineage, meaning that they need extremely high levelled parents. My Shiny Aggron was the child of an Aggron that was well over level 200, so its status makes sense.
This is why Shiny Groudon will shock the world, his mere existence is an anomaly. His shiny coloration means he comes from a powerful lineage of Groudons, which already says a lot.
If I tell people he came from an egg given to me from an Egyptian God via a system random starter pack, they will call me crazy or insane. It's not like I will them anyways.
If seeing Legendary Pokemon in the Wild was a one in a lifetime experience for most, then what will seeing a Shiny Legendary feel like?
At this rate, I am slowly coming to terms that I may have to eventually reveal my Pokemon to the world, if someone comes and challenges me then so be it. But I will try to bide my time as much as possible, I don't want to become an international celebrity just yet.
Shiny Aggron will already attract unspeakable amounts of attention, Raikou and Shiny Groudon are a whole different story entirely.
I know it sounds like a cliche protagonist line, but I really don't want to be spied on by journalist's and paparazzi.
I would rather explore the world, meet new people and go on tons of adventures without having to be annoyed 24/7. Let's be honest, we all got annoyed every time team Rocket showed up in a Pokemon episode and pulled one of their unsuccessful stunts.
What a way to piss someone off. If they do that to me, I am so unleashing the wrath of Raikou on them, let's see how they like a 100-billion-volt attack head on, heck I might even go beyond and tell Raikou to increase it to a trillion volts, though even that won't be a fraction of the full extent of Raikou's power voltage.
If Groudon is the Godzilla of the Pokemon World, then Raikou is the Baihu of the Pokemon World. Baihu is one of the four symbols of the Chinese constellations in Chinese mythology, also known as 'White Tiger of the West' or the 'White Tiger God' and labelled as the 'King of the Beasts'.
Funnily enough, many myths say that Baihu used lightning which makes him the perfect mythological creature to compare to Raikou.
Both of them are tigers, both use lightning and both are mythological creatures and deities.
With that amusing thought in mind, I chuckled before going to sleep.
~ A day later, May 3rd Wednesday 10:00 AM~
I entered my Lounge Room just in time to hear the announcer welcome everyone back enthusiastically and excitedly as he announced that today was the second and final day of the Super Rookie Tournament as the results of the Third Round, Semi Final Round and Final Round will all be determined today.
This is it..... We are reaching the climax.
I brought Totodile out in order to spectate the next upcoming matches before our turn comes. Judging from what I saw earlier yesterday, I would say the only good challenge I would have during this Super Rooki Tournament would be the semifinals and finals. My opponent for the Third Round definitely didn't seem too promising to provide me with a challenge.
As we spent the next hour watching the battles, which for other trainers ended up being a lot more intense. I watched with anticipation as someone finally managed to make Sabrina use her second Pokemon before ultimately losing to Sabrina.
Brock also used his second Pokemon as his opponent proved to be extremely powerful using his standards.
Eventually though came my turn, I stood up and nodded to Totodile as I withdrew him and went towards the arena ring.
I heard the announcer introduce my opponent.
" Well folks! its time for the last battle of the third round, you all know what that means! It's time to welcome the first contender during this match, coming all the way from cinnabar island, is nonother than Steffany!" The announcer spoke calmly before enthusiastically announced the identity of my Opponent.
I watched as she made her way through the middle of the field as she looked rather nervous, the crowd cheered as my opponent appeared in the arena but not very loudly as I could see people looking more interested in seeing me rather than her.
" Now, its time to welcome the second contender, who had garnered quite the reputation for his consecutive victories using only one Pokemon. We all saw his magnificent performance yesterday and can't wait to see more! Yes, let's watch as the Dark Horse once more as he makes his appearance! Give it up for Ayron!" The announcer spoke with more enthusiasm and cheerfulness as he pointed towards my entrance gate, as the lights focused on the entrance. I walked out slowly as the crowd began to cheer loudly as I once again appeared in the Arena Field.
Man, announcers really make tournaments like these more worthwhile.
I calmly walked towards the centre as the crowd slowly calmed down as they anxiously waited for me to release Totodile once more in front of their very eyes.
I nodded towards the announcer and gazed at my opponent who seemed to be getting more nervous as I made my way into field.
" With both competitors here, we can properly begin the match! Both trainers must release their Pokemon at the same time! Let the battle begin!" The announcer yelled as he signalled the start of the battle.
Me and Steffany let out both our Pokemon.
" TOTODILE!" Totodile roared as he made his appearance making the crowd roar in excitement at seeing the powerful royal regional pokemon make his appearance in front of them once. more.
Totodile glared at his Opponent who seemingly widened his eyes after seeing his Opponent.
" Growlithe?" Says Growlithe before glancing at his trainer noting her nervousness before glaring at Totodile and growling.
" Ayron had chosen Totodile once more! Steffany responds by sending out Growlithe! What an interesting matchup, Totodile has shown that it can beat even Pokemon that has an advantage against it, how will Growlithe fair up?" The announcer said with anticipation as the crowd seemed amused by this matchup.
I smiled as the battle begun, Steffany telling Growlithe to use agility and thunder fang.
My smile got even wider, this Growlithe was not bad it was Level 60.
" Totodile, take it head on." I said calmly, confusing Steffany and Growlithe. Some of the crowd also looked momentarily surprised before watching in anticipation, some smiled as they deduced what I was planning to do.
Totodile took the attack head on getting a little bit shocked but largely unaffected.
" Now, grab Growlithe and use Aerial Ace." I said with a smile, Totodile grinned as he grabbed Growlithe who seemed helpless as Totodile's grip was too strong, Totodile grabbed Growlithe in a full nelson as he slammed him down and releasing his grip at the last second.
" Now end it with Water Pulse." I said as the Totodile used Water Pulse on the downed Growlithe who took a nasty head on aerial ace attack and was dazed before realizing the powerful water type move that was above him, but it was too late to dodge.
I watched as the Water Pulse consumed Growlithe sending him hurling towards the Arena wall completely knocking him out.
The crowd cheered loudly as they saw Totodile show its might by taking down another Pokemon swiftly without much trouble.
" Growlithe is unable to battle! There we have it folks! Totodile and Ayron once again claim a consecutive victory without much effort, is there anything that can stop them?" The announcer said excitedly as he watched the battle.
~ One battle later, May 3rd Wednesday 11:18 AM~
I sighed as I watched how Steffany's last Pokemon had fallen, after Growlithe Steffany revealed she had a Vulpix and a Flareon. Both of whom were Fire Types, she seemed like a fire type specialist this was really not her day.
All of them were above level 60 but the fact that Totodile outranked them and upleveled them and had an advantage against them didn't help them at all. I will give her Flareon the benefit of the Doubt, it managed to last a minute against Totodile which is not bad at all, it was Level 68 too.
It looks like she evolved it recently because I recall it being an Eevee during the Second Practical Examination.
I was relatively impressed with her determination to win, but in the end she failed.
Totodile underwent through torture training under the tutelage of Corviknight, the only thing that could challenge him is a Pokemon of equal level or higher. He ranked up to AA from his previous A rank, which really makes it unfair for everyone else.
" Wow! Flareon is unable to battle! The winner is Totodile and Ayron! Totodile and Ayron are proving to be one hell of a duo, he is the only contender to have only used one Pokemon throughout this whole Super Rookie Tournament so far, could anyone possibly break that consecutive one Pokemon victory streak?" The announcer said dramatically, making the crowd grow excited at the next match ups.
I grinned as I withdrew Totodile who grinned back and gave me a nod.
I saw how Steffany looked completely sulked as she withdrew Flareon and went back with a dark cloud of depression hovering above her.
I shook my head as I went back to my Lounge and withdrew from the Arena, The Announcer announcing the Semi-finals to be next, saying that they will give everyone a 10-minute break before beginning the semi-finals.

I am also planning to have him catch another Pokemon after this Tournament, I am sure you guys will like it.
