Synopsis

After being cast to the depths of hell just for being born 'wrong,' Lokus was beaten down and trampled upon in its unforgiving lands, where power was everything. And for someone with no power like him? He was stuck at the bottom of the food chain.

But his heart burned with a vengeance and a desire to show the world just how big of a mistake it had made in pushing him aside, to make those who had cast him down regret that they had ever looked down upon him.

Amidst his suffering, the Phantom Monarch System answered his call for vengeance.

Now armed with the opportunity to tear down those who stood above him, he begins his ascent to the top of the world, to cast down the ones who have thrown him away and make them rue the day they had ever thought themselves his betters.

His so-called parents? He would show them what it meant to be worthless.

The man who had banished him? Lokus would crush him under a torrent of ice.

Those who had shunned him, scorned him, hated him? He would repay their hatred back tenfold.

During his crusade, the words of a prophecy loom to his back all the while, its words haunting and its fulfillment fast approaching.

"Dread thrice-shunned's rise heralds death.
Broken kingdoms, shattered bonds,
Reducing the waning light to but a distant whisper.
Under sin, the daughter births a kindred spirit
Tolling the war of void and stars for power nearest.
Sinful winter shall clash with righteous sand,
Inching towards an eclipse.
Death heralds the end, the end heralds the beyond."

........
Readers will learn about the world as Lokus does. However, if you have questions and I deem them okay to answer without spoiling anything, I'll be more than happy to reply. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for Lokus to learn about them.

The power system is inspired by both cultivation novels and rpgs, and the world itself by several fantasy books I loved growing up.

If you like gritty scenes, systems, no harems, and struggles between good and evil, this might be the story for you.

Lolbro is a master of prose. I would know, I've read his works and I'm always inspired by the way he weaves words. Well, that and he's my favorite editor. Okay, maybe he's also my only editor. Regardless, there's a reason for that. His story deserves more eyeballs. His characters, his plot, his world building, deserve to shine on the world stage. Dive in head first people, you won't regret it <3

A weak-to-strong story, from what I've read. It's an interesting premise, and the start was pretty catchy. Though I suggest not repeating the same word within a sentence, as it sounds repetitive. 😅 It was a good read, and one that I would like to continue reading if possible. Definitely worth recommending to others who like System novels. Great work, Author! More chapters~!

Right from the start, the novel drags you in with its excellent story. It's rare to come across a great novel like this. Apart from the stories and characters, my favourite aspect is the powersystem--its different, unique, and leaves for much suspense and mystery. Def a 100/100!!

This is a very good novel. I was surprised and the power system seemed fresh and good even though it hadn't been explained fully.

The story may seem slow at first, but the story the author builds is worth the patience. Excellently worded story with a promising start. I'm going to add this to my library and keep reading this bit by bit!

The cover's awesome, the story's awesome, the writer's the same and he's a way better author than most, his work deserves publicity, so I hope that does a little from this review, at least.

Lolbro, an author amongst authors who has come to greet us with another high-quality story! I didn't think he'd be able to come up with another great idea after his last novel but he's proved me wrong. Only three chapters in and i'm already invested. I definitely recommend this novel!

I like that flavor of power system very much Edgy protagonist with an edgy backstory is based System is... I hate systems, ok? It kills the magic. A nice setup. There's something deeply satisfying in it... I can't put my word on it. But it makes the world feel more alive... but i hate systems peace outzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It’s well written and you won’t find grammar mistakes in there. The story is quite entertaining from what I’ve read, though maybe a little too slow for my taste. However, it’s definitely a good read.

The author has great writing skills, be it grammar or spelling, mistakes are hard to find. From what I have read, the story looks well planned down to its details. I personally would have liked to have a bit more descriptions but it's my personal tastes. I recommend the story!

The style is great. It’s the perfect mix of easy to read and riveting detail. It’s almost like I can feel the environment and experiences, and everything flows smoothly. It is neither bulky nor choppy, and is quite pleasant to read. Story: I can’t really think of a better way to start world building. There are no info dumps, but we steadily learn about the world, with small details mixed into action in a perfect blend. Motivation. Development. Feelings. Right from the start, it’s clear that the author hasn’t forgotten to make this part of the story just as good as the rest. I can’t speak much yet for side characters, but even in just the first few chapters, we know what motivates the protagonist, and get hints at events that might change his goals in the future. Grammar- Flawless. I don’t believe I noticed a single error throughout. Notes: This story has a lot of potential to develop into a masterpiece, and I know that the author has enough experience to put that potential to use. I’ve read a few of their other works on other platforms, and I think this is an improvement from their already good novels I’ve read in the past!
