Chapter 7: Hidden Feature
~Third POV~
Reinhard entered the fray as Emilia and Mash both took the chance to get behind the sword saint taking Rom.
Emilia took the chance to heal Rom as Elsa eyed the Sword Saint with excitement in her tone, "Reinhard… from that family of Sword Men? Ah… How wonderful! I never thought I'd meet so many enjoyable opponents all at once!"
Despite the eagerness, Reinhard remained calm and composed as Mash gave him a small piece of information causing Elsa to frown, "Reinhard if you intend to end that monster a small piece of advice. She has a curse of [Curse Doll] capable of regenerating herself and limitless stamina. Be careful."
Reinhard with his many [Divine Protections] one of which contains a lie and truth detector narrowed his eyes at Elsa in a new light in an understanding tone, "I see. Then I should give this swing my all."
Elsa on the other hand glared at Mash's direction but then revealed a sickening smile towards Reinhard readying in self-confidence, "No. I suppose you know my blessing doesn't matter. It will only make it even more fun. So long as you entertain me."
Reinhard revealing a light-hearted smile responded clenching his normal sword with a brilliant shine in his eyes, "Elsa Grainhiert the Bowel Hunter. Knowing your ability I'm afraid I can't just go easy on you. This is goodbye."
*Wooosh*
Elsa charged straight forward towards Reinhard but the second she rushed Reinhard already swung causing everyone's eyes to widen at the sheer strength and power the Sword Saint possessed.
*SWOOOSH*
With just one swing of the Sword Saint, he destroyed the loot house along with portions of the Kingdom's walls in the process as everyone witnessed his strength. Soon everything was calm…
However, Mash knew better seeing the surroundings he gripped his katana as Reinhard noticed the direction in his eyes.
*WOOOSH*
Elsa saw the Sword Saint rushing after her in a weakened state wounded and bleeding but very much alive slowly regenerating gritting her teeth at Mash anger in her tone, "This kid keeps getting in my way – "
*Shinng*
A sword pointed at her neck Reinhard responded in a calm tone, "That's enough Elsa."
*Wooosh*
*Voooom*
Tossing her Bowel Hunter Blade into the air and distracting Reinhard she moved away expressing a euphoric expression making her promise to them, "One day… I will open the bowels of everyone here. Until then… take good care of your innards for me…"
Just like that she vanished in the dead of the night…

~Mash B. POV~
HOLY SHIT!
THAT'S TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT?!!
Calming myself down everything has been accounted for. Alright, so far everything has been according to plan.
Reinhard and Felt soon come to the scene as Emilia is healing the giant. Reinhard asks me in a calm tone in his voice, "Mash! I see that you and Emilia are alright it seems that the attacker has left."
Emilia was next to speak up healing Rom next to her as she replied to him in a kindhearted tone, "Reinhard! I didn't think that you would come over but the attacker the Bowel Hunter has vanished thanks to you both… Mash risked a lot to get my insignia back from the attacker…"
Reinhard looked surprised at the sudden news but didn't pay it any mind as he looked at me with clear surprise in his eyes as I replied to him sheepishly, "Well… I did say I was going to help her out although I didn't expect it to be this bad of the outcome, but it all worked well right?"
Reinhard just nods his head as Rom finally wakes up and looks at his damaged home I could only be to blame for his home…
Taking the moment to look around my eyes find something amusing. Bingo… leaning towards the ground I found a small bag opening to reveal 20 Holy Coins. She might have planned to use it for Emilia Insignia or if it's her life savings.
Well, it's not like I'm going to need all these coins anyway plus I do kind of owe them for my trouble, but I'll keep the half of them never know when they can come in handy.
Next, I walked to Rom as I grabbed the bag Elsa left behind in her hurry. I gave him 10 Holy Coins made him feel surprised, "Here take these 10 Holy Coins. When Elsa the Bowel Hunter fled, she dropped her bag. I apologize if I can't give you all since I need them as well considering I'm a foreigner of this land with no money."
Everyone seemed to be surprised at my claims Emilia looked surprised as she asked me in clear curiosity, "Sir Mash, I didn't realize that you weren't from here of the Kingdom of Lugnica that would explain the strange clothing?"
Felt next provided with Emilia with more evidence of my claims as she explained to me with sparking lights in her eyes holding her insignia as I pointed out, "Uhm Felt think you can return the insignia?"
Returning and averting any more attention I threw Felt under the bus. I didn't want to divulge how I got here so best to drag the attention away from me to Felt.
But before they could I soon said something to Felt that caught Reinhard's attention as she handed Emilia's insignia to her, "Say Felt when you hold the insignia did the jewel in the middle start to glow?"
Felt looking at me oddly only replied to me in a childish tone while leaving Reinhard speechless at what he heard at this moment, "Shining? Of course, it was shining when I held it does it matter?"
As she says those words Reinhard gets close to her as I begin to explain to her what it means to her since it no longer matters if people find out about it now, "Well it looks like the Kingdom of Lugnica has another candidate for the throne of the Kingdom?"
Everyone was surprised by my words as I asked Emilia nicely to see if what I said was true giving Reinhard proof, "Hey Emilia I know this kid has brought you trouble but could you let her hold your insignia to show it glows it's something that could change the Kingdom if another candidate appears yes?"
Emilia catches on to what I meant hesitantly but follows my orders for now as Felt now holds the insignia as it indeed glowing as Felt returns it to Emilia.
Now Felt quickly caught on to the words of what I meant as Reinhard tried to knock her out, but I interrupted him as I talked to her, "Felt you said before that you have a goal that you will see no matter what right? Would becoming the next ruler would be helpful to your goal in the future?"
Felt troubled as she looked at me and she said to me with some doubt, "Really… me becoming the next candidate for the throne…"
Reinhard could only sigh as he began to say what happened in the anime as Felt answered his questions like the anime towards the end she was hesitant till Rom went over to them as he says to Felt with a smile, "Felt I know that you want to stay with me but don't you remember your own goals that you wanted to make a come true follow what you want to do."
Seeing the scene before me I look over to Emilia as I ask her what she wants to do, "Say Emilia you seem silent throughout this whole ordeal what do you plan to do?"
Emilia looking in my direction surprised at the scene asks me with clear surprise, "Huh? Oh! Sorry, I was just looking into how something like an odd thing from my insignia could be stolen then being attacked then finding out another candidate appeared was strange is all."
Smirking at that I then ask her what she plans to do in a curious tone, "Well what exactly can you do then Miss Emilia?"
Emilia then turns my attention to me as she asks me politely in a kind tone, "Very well for starters how about I give you a reward not only have you helped me retrieve my insignia but also helped me against Elsa… I will try to return anything that is within my power."
Looking at her with a smile on my face I began to explain to her in an embarrassed tone scratching the back of my neck, "Actually as I reminded everyone here that I'm a foreigner here I have almost no knowledge of this Kingdom say for a few important info but otherwise illiterate here…"
Emilia was looking at me wide-eyed in shock as she replied to me, "Eh?! Then how could you have gotten here much less know this country!"
Well, it's not like I have a cheat skill to know all this much but it's best to learn as much as I can since I can hardly know the language here in this world.
With that in mind, I then say to Emilia to her my request with a shameless smile on my face as I bow to her, "Actually I was wondering if you can teach me how to read and write in your language here as well as learn the magic of your Kingdom since where I'm from the existence of magic is almost nonexistent."
Emilia now looks about to drop over about the sudden info I gave her as she holds my hand as if I was a mental patient, "How! If that is your request, then I will do everything in my power to help you out. Wait you said that you are a foreigner then you don't have a place to stay how about I invite you over to our place!"
Smiling at her happy about the offer I replied to her in a shameless tone, "Very well Emilia how could I not accept the offer of a beautiful girl like you anyway."
Seeing Emilia blush at that she tried to redirect my earlier words but I cut her off by saying to her with a smile, "Emilia I think your silver hair looks nice as you it will be cool if we are friends and I don't care about your race in the slightest I think elf are pretty cool."
Emilia stood there in shock at my words. She was not used to my kindness she was left wordless of my answer.
And she's pretty and better than any supermodels in my old world. But buttering her up also works to have her on my side confronting the clown.
Soon enough I see the conversation ended with Reinhard and Felt as it looks like everything has been settled so far.
Next, I saw Reinhard come to me to invite me to his home, but I already explained my answer to him as I was planning to head to Emilia housing which he understood. But I also asked him for a small favor in return, "Although if you want to pay me back… there's something you can do for me if possible."
Reinhard smiled happily agreeing as I leaned over to him explaining what I wanted surprising him with what I said, "I was wondering if you could introduce me to Count Reedback to make a deal with the man. There's this something I wish to obtain from him."
After that, he gave me a handshake agreeing as he said to me, "Very well then Mash. This is something I can do."
We let go of our hands as we say our goodbyes. After that Emilia managed to calm down again as we both took a wagon ride while an Earth Dragon was taking us to the Rosswaal Mansion.
We both discussed the facts of the Kingdom of Lugnica then eventually Emilia fell asleep while I was looking at the night moon sky.
Thinking about everything that has happened so far, I have to be very careful from this point onward.
At least everything has been according to the manga and anime, so I cleared Arc 1. Now the real question is how I handle Arc 2 since I'm not sure. Or the possibility I get kicked out since I don't follow Rosswaal's quota from his Gospel.
While I'm not as defenseless with my abilities I won't hesitate to defend myself to the best of my ability. Besides that, facing off against Elsa leveled me up in my skills and stats.

Wha…? I blinked confused. How the heck did I gain EXP?
I didn't defeat Elsa. She kicked my ass but with Rom and Emilia's help I – no way.
My eyes widened as I realized something. Throughout the exchange against Elsa, I gained fighting experience.
I guess I wasn't paying attention earlier but… when I put my life on the line I gained 'experience' from it which included gaining 'EXP' to count. The more I live and learn the gradual increase to my EXP bar increases to gain EXP.

I narrowed my eyes at this. But this certainly gives me an excitable feeling I could grow stronger naturally in a safe environment. I guess the only way to find out is to wait better get some sleep then for my next trial of going through Arc 2 begins.
