Chapter 15: Chapter 15: This Is Not a Lighting Charm!

Crouch Sr. went to work with a bit of helplessness.

Since he was only a subordinate, he couldn't do much about Wilson's stubbornness. He could only wait for Wilson to enter Hogwarts and be re-taught by the professors.

"Who would want to study so tediously..."

Wilson glanced down at the spellbook in his hand, marking his study plan as he sighed, "If not for the greater good, who wouldn't want to be a genius?"

Lighting Charm: The spell is 'Lumos.' When cast, it emits a long-lasting, stable daylight. If the caster's magic is strong enough, they can control the area and duration of the light, making summer daylight reappear in the dark winter night.

It's just a lighting charm...

Wilson Wright felt that the power of this spell was already greatly enhanced.

Not only the lighting charm, but according to the system's learning method, any ordinary spell could be mastered to an extreme. Once Wilson's internal magic became more abundant, he could wield unimaginable power.

Honestly, mastering these spells was very interesting.

However, the incantations were often very dull. Coupled with the repetitive learning method, even Wilson felt a bit lost.

All day long.

Besides the lighting charm, Wilson also mastered two other new spells.

Levitation Charm: The spell is 'Wingardium Leviosa.' When cast on an object, it can make the object float. If the caster's magic is strong enough, they can change the direction of the object's gravity pull, even making a building float in the air.

Fire-Making Spell: The spell is 'Incendio.' It releases and controls a flame. If the caster's magic is strong enough, they can manipulate the fire, shaping it into any form.

Just an ordinary fire-making spell...

The magical effect was as terrifying as a fiendfyre!

Gotta admit...

This learning method was indeed very efficient!

It didn't take much time. In about a week, Wilson could master all the first-year textbook spells.

Of course.

There was also potion-making.

Wilson felt a bit overwhelmed.

Because the potion recipes were long and tedious, even including the preparation methods of some ingredients that were unheard of.

Wilson planned to take some time to seriously study potion-making and have Crouch Sr. prepare a common potion recipe for Polyjuice Potion. He aimed to fully master its brewing method before the start of school...

The effect of Polyjuice Potion is to temporarily transform someone into another person, useful for shifting blame or deception. It's an extremely useful potion.

These past few days.

Wilson still planned to focus mainly on learning spells compared to the strange potions, as possessing magical power was most important.

After all...

In the future, what Wilson could mainly rely on would surely be his unique life potion and magic potion, along with the essential Polyjuice Potion.

As for future potion classes at school...

Even if he couldn't successfully brew a potion in class, it didn't matter. He would find a competent student partner for group assignments.

For instance, his new friend Cedric Diggory would be very suitable...

If there were any individual assessments, Wilson Wright could only hope that Hogwarts' Potions Professor Severus Snape wouldn't ridicule his potion-making skills...

Sunset.

Crouch Sr. returned home from work.

This usually disciplined man saw Wilson Wright still sitting at the table in the living room, pre-studying his textbook. Crouch Sr.'s eyes showed a bit of admiration.

Because Wilson's serious studying looked very earnest.

"How was it today?"

Crouch Sr. asked about his progress while taking off his suit, "Have you learned the lighting charm?"

"Go make dinner first."

Wilson's voice sounded a bit impatient, "I'm just a few repetitions away from finishing copying the spell... don't disturb my studies."

"Just memorizing the incantation isn't enough..."

Crouch Sr. frowned, becoming very serious when it came to wizard matters, "If you truly want to master this magic, it's not just about the incantation's pronunciation but also the..."

"Imperio!"

Wilson suddenly looked up.

With a flash of red light in his eyes, Crouch Sr. instantly closed his mouth, controlled by Wilson's Imperius Curse.

Wilson Wright pointed to the kitchen, his youthful voice becoming gentle, "Mr. Crouch, go make dinner. We'll discuss magic after it gets dark..."

"Yes."

Crouch Sr. turned and walked to the kitchen.

Night fell.

Dinner time arrived.

As the sky grew darker, Wilson finally lifted the Imperius Curse, allowing Crouch Sr. to regain his freedom.

However, once Crouch Sr. became aware again, instead of confronting Wilson Wright about the Imperius Curse, he sternly warned, "When you enter Hogwarts, you must not use magic outside school grounds until you're of age..."

This had a reason.

Once a young wizard enrolled, the Ministry of Magic would set up a trace to monitor them, preventing them from abusing magic in the Muggle world.

If a young wizard's trace showed activity, it meant they illegally used magic outside school. Even minors would be held accountable by the Ministry.

Wilson didn't pay much attention to details.

Moreover, he seemed very fond of using Unforgivable Curses.

If the Ministry's Aurors found out, they would definitely send Wilson straight to Azkaban. At that point, the Ministry might no longer have an Auror team...

"I understand."

Wilson seriously agreed.

When hearing such serious matters, Wilson respected Crouch Sr.'s advice.

"But, it's not a big deal."

Crouch Sr. continued, "You dislike using a wand. As long as your magic doesn't pass through a wand, the trace won't react..."

Since Crouch Sr. had once served as the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, he knew how to bypass the trace. Perhaps only Wilson could do this...

Other young wizards...

Probably couldn't even perform nonverbal spells!

As for wandless magic, they might never have heard of it!

"Alright."

Wilson Wright felt slightly relieved. He raised his hand and snapped his fingers, "Now, let me show you my progress... Lumos!"

With Wilson's youthful and clear voice...

Suddenly, the entire living room became bright as day!

Not only that, but the light in the living room slowly spread to the kitchen and other rooms, as Wilson was still controlling the area of the lighting charm!

This kind of lighting...

It was like the light appeared out of thin air!

It even made the room feel a bit warm!

Crouch Sr. looked at the living room as bright as daytime, and finally turned to look at Wilson Wright, who was still sitting at the table, with a face full of surprise, "Is this... a lighting charm?"

"Yes."

Wilson gently nodded, looking at the astonished Crouch Sr., "Based on my magic, it should last until midnight. We won't need heating in winter anymore."

"...This doesn't seem like a normal lighting charm..."

Crouch Sr.'s eyes showed confusion.

Because a typical wizard's lighting charm would just make a bit of light appear on the tip of their wand, like a flashlight in the Muggle world... Now Wilson's lighting charm made the whole room light up!

Of course.

There were other ways to make the wand emit more light.

However, the magical effect Wilson displayed seemed more powerful, making the whole room bright as if under the sun!

It was like his magic directly turned into sunlight...

Impossible to understand...

Was this still a lighting charm?

This clearly wasn't a lighting charm anymore!

"Why isn't it a normal lighting charm?"

Wilson Wright propped his elbows on the table, resting his chin on his hands, "My magic can keep us in constant light. Isn't that great?"
