why author, if you want to Nerf something, then Nerf things that are not canon. Also rather than changing the jutsu you could have made it so that the mental strain of multiple clones is a lot for the protagonist and only a jinchuriki could use it to train
I've found a logical and interesting way to introduce the alternate timelines and stuff later, but this note is about something else. It's about me nerfing a jutsu I love, but I don't even want to manage this time. Yes, since it's an AU, I'll be shameless and nerf the ordinary and multi-shadow clones jutsus. Sorry for this blasphemy if it is. The two jutsus will still be helpful in combat but not in training. (You'll see how if you stay)
