I totally get your point, I felt the same way closer to the start but I'm glad to let you know that my guy finally has 2 harem members and neither of them are FLs so he wasn't lying abt wanting a harem. In the end, no matter what I say, you won't like the novel and that's fine. Your taste is probably powerful MCs both physically and mentally and that's fine, I like those novels too, but I also think that an MC who just wants to settle down and is a nice guy is a good thing. One final thing, I won't defend how he's just giving in to the FL's demands all the time, it's obvious that the author intends to eventually have the MC in a relationship with them and isn't sure how to make it seem like he doesn't just want to cuck the protagonist but I promise you that MC is changing for the better. I don't want to spoil, but the MC isn't always going to be on the protagonist's team. It's not gonna be nice how MC cuts ties with protag, emphasis on the 'cut'. Anyway, enough ranting, I like the story but I can understand why you might not. I encourage you to give it another chance as the things you don't like are changing, mostly. Pros: Well designed, multi dimensional side characters Well thought out magic system (not the MCs system that sucks, just the general way magic works) Good character development (especially from Irina) Absolutely amazing fight scenes (Fight scenes W main thing that kept me hooked even till now at chp 150) Not too OPMC Cons: Extremely slow paced (I've read up to chp 150 so far and he still has most of his stats at the 3 range and is pretty weak) Mid world building (Things aren't explained until they become relevant even when they are important makes it seem like author is making it up as he goes) Edgy MC (People have alr talked a lot abt this, it's not that bad but it does get a little annoying, author crosses the line of dark MC and he's just emo)(keep reading tho if you hate that, he's changing W char development) The relationships between characters develop even slower than the plot (At chp 150 he has one girl that likes him and two at a maybe but even all three of these girls only started getting interested in him like 20 chps ago, still don't know if it's gonna even be romance let alone harem) HE ALWAYS LOSES AND GETS HURT (And to the main reason I made this review, I get that he is fighting strong opponents but c'mon. He loses almost every fight and is injured all the time it is like a repetitive cycle. What annoys me the most about this is that most of the time, that was all his 'plan'. When can I see the MC winning a little? ik author must hate MCs that win all the time but it's getting annoying) Overall: You will get annoyed at this book, it has many bad elements, but somehow you will keep reading it's almost magical how I just can't seem to stop reading even now I am itching to keep going. Despite my 3 star rating, I am more invested in this book than any other on Webnovel rn def give it a go and forgive my man MC for being emo.

Author, after reading the comments that have come up while I was gone, I can see that you still don't get what I'm trying to say. It's simple really, the action of the FML kissing a man that isn't the ML isn't bad in itself, instead it's the context and the implications behind that kiss that make it unforgiveable to me. Let me elaborate. The FML being completely willing to kiss a random guy she doesn't know, just to test whether her powers can work with other men is a little annoying, especially since readers love to self insert into these novels. But that isn't the crux of the problem. The real problem is what that kind of action says about the FML, her mindset, and what she might do in the future. It tells us that she is someone who is willing to kiss other men than the boy she has feelings for (whether she realises those feelings or not) just to get back at the ML for making her mad at him. Essentially a cheater's mindset. And you as the author being able to write something like this into a character in a self insert novel only says bad things for the future of their relationship and the novel. Like the FML actually cheating next time cuz my boy doesn't have the relationship plot armour every other self insert protagonist has. And I personally, regardless of the author saying it won't happen again, won't take my chances on the sinking ship that is this novel. Finally, I would like to add that being willing to write a character that can get cheated on (to any extent whether they are in a relationship or not) is a sign of a good author because they can write more complex characters. So I actually commend you for being able to write that. But I was looking for a self insert novel, like most other readers, and this isn't it. Next time you write a novel, rather put it mainstream instead of on webnovel, as I see a lot of potential in your writing, or write one with regards to your audience (self inserts like me). Good luck with your novel, it's a shame that I won't be here to see the promising story progress.

Also to do with him meeting Alec again and not avoiding him, the author makes sure to include reasoning for every choice he makes with Alec (not always great reasoning but reasoning nonetheless)

Bruh did we read the same novel, buddy was gonna absolutely ditch his teacher (the first FMC) but she threatened him with the lives of his friends and Lathel, being the REAL, nice person gave in to save them. If all you want is an anti hero story just say so

This novel is fire idk what some of the other comments are on about. I'm 240 chapters in and loving it. THE IMPORTANT THING: Don't read this if you expect a huge amount of plot and character development over difficult battles, this is a slice of life for a reason. THE SECOND IMPORTANT THING: THE WHOLE POINT OF THE PLOT IS FOR THE MC TO BE NICE. The reason he gives into the FMC's waterworks isn't because he is dumb, it's because he's just a nice guy. This entire story is a diss of your typical super sayan anime protagonists and it puts a normalish guy into this scenario and it's great. Only downside is that he still doesn't have a single woman after 240 chapters (by his own choice) OVERALL: I'd personally recommend unless U want dark anti-hero MC (also he is still OPMC so don't worry)

Just hate read some more and cooled off and bro doesn't get cheated on again, not changing review cuz I'm mad that he just goes straight back to her after getting cucked. Also I know that they aren't 'technically' in a relationship yet so she isn't technically cheating but is it too much to ask for a romance novel heroine to not go out with another dude and kiss him whilst also having at least a physical relationship with mc?
