A Plea for Help in a Scary Story: Who Might Respond?

I'm not sure without reading the story, but they could be ordinary Africans trying to make their voices heard.

The two main characters are clearly the father and his son. The father is the one who is taking a stand and reaching out. He's concerned about his son's situation in school. His son is the one at the center of the issue, being misjudged or not fully understood in the educational environment. There could be other characters like school administrators or teachers in the background that the father is trying to communicate with, but the focus is on the father - son relationship.

Ruby would be very interested and might want to share it with her friends. Yang would probably like the action parts if there are any. Weiss might be a bit hesitant at first but could warm up to it.

She could respond with excitement if she likes that kind of thing. For example, she can text back 'That's so cool, dad! Tell me more!'

A kind neighbor might see her and offer help. They could call her parents or try to open the door for her if they have the right tools.

Ruby would be immediately drawn to the action - oriented story elements. The battles and the use of different abilities would be like a magnet for her. She might even start thinking about how she could incorporate some of those ideas into her own combat style. Weiss would be more into the complex relationships between the different factions. She would analyze how they form alliances or rivalries, much like she does in her own world. Blake would look at the story elements from a moral perspective. The gray areas between right and wrong in the 40k fanfiction would make her think deeply about her own beliefs. Yang would be excited by the heroic sacrifices and the characters' unwavering loyalty. These elements would fuel her own sense of heroism.

There's 'The Monkey's Paw'. A family comes into possession of a magical monkey's paw that can grant three wishes. However, every wish comes with a horrible and unforeseen consequence. When they wish for money, their son is killed in a work accident, and the compensation they receive is the exact amount they wished for. It shows how meddling with the unknown can lead to great horror.
