Reborn as the scapegoat
Lily opens her eyes on a cold marble floor—inside a mansion she has never seen before, in a body that isn’t hers. Before she can breathe, a mechanical voice rings in her skull:
“Binding complete. The New Scapegoat System has selected you.”
She has transmigrated into the notorious villainess Lily Cross, a woman destined to be blamed for everything, ruined by everyone, and eventually die miserably. The original Lily destroyed the romance between the male lead, Jacob Cross, and the beloved heroine Molly. Her final ending was abandonment, humiliation, and death.
Lily wants none of it.
Her very first decision is simple:
“I want a divorce!”
She rushes to Jacob with trembling hands and a divorce agreement, thinking she can escape the doomed plot and live quietly—but her heart secretly celebrated.
“Hurry up and sign, you gorgeous walking iceberg…”
“I need to escape this storyline before I die again…”
“After this, I’m going to drink, dance, and maybe find a handsome idol or two to comfort me—”
But the system has a glitch—one that changes everything.
Jacob can hear all her thoughts.
And her secret joy at escaping him.
And especially her fantasy about “handsome young idols.”
From that moment, the story twists.
Lily tries to avoid her fate, but instead begins reshaping it. She uses her sharp instincts, emotional intelligence, and unexpected charm to dismantle the heroine’s script and expose every lie around her.
Jacob, who was never supposed to care, becomes dangerously attentive—possessive even—as Lily’s unfiltered thoughts pull him closer.
While the world still paints her as the villain, Lily refuses to be anyone’s scapegoat.
She’ll rewrite her ending—even if the cold husband who shouldn’t have loved her becomes the hardest part to escape.
