Prologue 1 So my story starts with the day that I was born, my parents already had two kids and in their eyes, two kids and two parents were the perfect families but then I came. My mom couldn't bear to give me away cause I was so cute when I was born so they ended up keeping me, but then when I started to grow and get older that is when they started to change. The first just gave me more chores to do when I came home from school, then they kept asking me to not talk unless I am told to. After a while my brother and sister who are 3 years older than I started to treat me just like my parents but they had kids from their school beat me up sometimes but my parents didn't care about me getting beat because they just said that they deserve it. There were so many times that I thought of just hurting myself, but I was only around eight years old; no eight years old should be thinking this but with the way that friends and family mostly treat me it just comes to my mind a lot. Things started to get worse around the end of the year when my father started to drink because he thought that his life was so worse because of me, well one night I was just finishing my homework late at night since I had to do everything in the house than out of nowhere my dad came barging in with a beer bottle in his hand and being all slurry. "You little brat should have never been born. I wish you weren't here, but tonight I will have my fun with you." He said in a serious tone. I was getting scared of what he was going to do and all of a sudden he threw me on the floor, hitting me, kicking me, punching me; everything possible. But then he didn't something that I thought that no father would ever do to their child, he started to rape (I won't go into details) when he was done he just left me there to clean myself up. What happens when you join the Marching Band? You play music of course, but there are also the band romances that make you stop and think. Maybe Danny will find more than just a friend. Danny is a musician at heart. Everyone in her family plays an instrument. Her Freshman year is coming up and she has to decide what to play and what to be in. Around April a sign-up sheet for Marching Band shows up on her doorstep. Signing up, she doesn't realize what she has gotten herself into. Jackson comes from a line of trumpets and other horn players. He was expected to join Marching Band as did his older brother Chase. He signed up and prepared for the first day of practice. On the first day of band camp, no one expected to be worked so hard in their life. Danny joined the Drumline and marched the second bass. Jackson played trumpet.
