The first instalment of the Preternatural series: Abhorrence Set in a semi-futuristic dystopian world on the brink of collapse, in a time of great strife, unrest and the inception of rebellion. Creed is plunged into a chaotic and unfamiliar world that abhorrently rejects him following his awakening.

The world that was once normal, transformed into a fantasy straight from a book. Monsters began to appear everywhere on the planet, and governments began to dispatch armies to protect cities, but powerful monsters were unaffected by common weapons. When despair was about to make humanity destroy itself, people began to awaken powers that made them strong enough to deal with the mighty monsters. These people were called "Cultivators." Years passed and society got used to dealing with monsters. Children who once dreamed of becoming actors, musicians, or YouTubers, now dream of being cultivators to receive powers, fight monsters, and receive the fame and money that came with this dangerous profession. Reacher was also like those children, and when he turned 17 his powers also became a cultivator, but very different from what he imagined they would be. He ripe his light grey shirt in one jerk. Taking a small piece, he turns it around my wrist. A low hiss escapes from my lips causing his beautiful grey eyes to move from my wrist to my own green eyes. His breathing was calm and fanning lightly on my face. The way his eyes were looking at me make me feel dizzy. A tingling feeling boom in my stomach and that was so calming. But I know I can't think these things right now, not develop any feelings for him. Because he is emotionless, arrogant, and dangerous. Not only dangerous but danger himself. Without him, my life was okay because I was surviving. My past was dark, full of secrets. I want to make it bright but fails every time. But when I landed in Hawaii, my life changed. "We don't know where they came from, what they are, or how much longer we have." In the spring of 2036, hordes of abominations sprung from the ground and drove humanity to the edge of extinction. The world governments that survived the initial assault pooled what resources they could into large strongholds that could hold off the hordes of the unspeakable. After 452 days of endless violence and a death toll of over 8 billion, the hordes finally halted. Humankind questioned their purchase, but they have not wasted it. After nearly two decades of relief, what remains of civilization is tentatively stable under the United Coalition. They hide in their strongholds at the end of the earth, fearing what walks the land that was once theirs. After the first appearance of these creatures, an event mankind would later refer to as "The First Breach," a small portion of the population started to be born with a genetic abnormality dubbed the Paradox Gene. Children identified as carrying this gene, are taken from their homes, and their lives are erased. They are taken to a UCN black site to be moulded into an elite fighting force; the only hope of going toe to toe with the mind-bending horrors that stalk the wastelands on earth.

Qin Yao opens her eyes and finds herself transmigrated from a post-apocalyptic world into the body of an ancient peasant woman. Her family consists of four stepchildren needing care. A good-for-nothing husband, who has nothing but looks, is causing a ruckus. They live in a thatched hut, without a grain of rice, the family is emaciated like refugees. But facing the fields, with her back to the sky, and her face to the earth, even a top-tier fighter from the post-apocalyptic world waves her hand: Can't take it! Really can't take it! Qin Yao scratches her head: In the ancient times where agricultural taxes are extremely high, how can I avoid farming?
