Decoding Humanity
There's a secret scientific bureau full of mad scientists who’ve been trying for decades to send signals into outer space and get a response.
One day, they wake up to find they’ve actually received a signal, but to interpret it, they first have to locate the signal itself.
It turns out the signal was received by someone, and it could be “accidental” — one person out of 8 billion on Earth got it, and no one knows why.
So, what do they do? The department pulls some strings, manages to cut the internet, and now the whole world is offline. No communication, and it's staying that way until they find out who caught the signal.
Enter Evan Angelman, a pretty normal 22-year-old who wakes up to find this strange signal coming through his device. He's not tech-savvy, so he asks his genius best friend Levi for help.
Levi figures out that the signal is from outer space, probably accidental, and warns Evan not to mess with it. The two of them eventually put it together and realize they’re probably the reason the internet got shut down and now they’re most definitely being hunted.
