Was I freaking out?.. Maybe a bit, but I was too tired to respond to anything that was happening and instead of having a complete meltdown... I went to bed to sleep on things. I figured I would rather leave it for the morning.
I woke up the next morning jumping to my feet in fright. I managed to wake up before my alarm clock had even gone off as I remembered what happened the night before when my pendant was glowing bright blue and my cat walked right through the mirror in my walk in closet.
After I jumped up I began to pace back and forth in my room, thinking about what exactly was going on... Maybe I'm going mad?.. I thought. Maybe it was just some strange dream I had?.. And maybe this was just all in my head?.. I thought to myself as I sat myself down on my bed. I looked around my room and then back down to the necklace that Eva gave me when I saw that the pendant was no longer glowing. "It must have been all in my head..." I said out loud to myself as I tried to convince myself that it wasn't "REAL."
My room was still a bit dark since I didn't open my curtains and so I got up from my bed and opened them, as I flung them open wide with both of my hands to see a clear blue sky with not a single cloud in sight as the rays from the sun beamed into my room.
"Today seems like it's going to be a good day..." I said to myself in a slight whisper as I looked out the window. Was it going to be a good day?.. I don't know and that is why I used the word "seems" but let's get on with the story... I was still looking out of the window while the rays of the sun made my legs warm.
Looking down at my attire, I then realised that I was still in my work uniform and that I hadn't bothered to change since last night. I walked to my closet and got out some new clothes to wear for today when my cat just popped out of nowhere. As I turned around from my closet so that I could head to the shower, I got the fright of my life when my cat stuck its head out in curiosity from behind the wall that led to the steps in the passageway.
"Are you crazy!.." I said out loud to the cat as if it knew what I was saying, "You could have given me a heart attack since I didn't see you there."
I then grabbed the clothes I needed, placed them on my bed, took a quick 15 minute shower, changed into the clothes I had neatly laid out on the bed, took the yellow envelope that the new student needed and grabbed an orange from the fruit bowl in the kitchen before heading out and not forgetting to lock the front door behind me. I hopped down the steps in a hurry and checked my watch... It read 7:30... 7:30 being the normal time since I set all my clocks back to the normal time.
My bag felt light as I walked on the pavement because I left all of the books I didn't need in my locker. Suddenly I then realised that I still had to help out that new student. I wonder who this new student is though?.. I thought to myself, I have to make a good first impression since he could be a really nice guy. Trust me when I say a good first impression is everything. I mean, who wants to make a fool out of themselves in front of a new student and possibly a cute one?.. Not me, that's for certain.
Continuing to think about who the new student could be I then remembered that "boy" and his glowing emerald green eyes. For the second time I had forgotten about the "date" he wanted to take me on but I have been so busy for the last few weeks that it had once again slipped my mind. But to tell you the truth, the main reason I was avoiding the "date" was because I was really nervous about it, I mean what if I mess it up?.. Or I do something wrong?..
"As you can see... I am clearly an overthinker."
Still lost in my thoughts as I walked, I felt a warm breeze brush against my skin while I looked towards the city. I watched the cars as they passed me by and then before I knew it I was by the school gates and making my way up the steps of the building before opening the doors to head inside. I opened the doors to see a hallway that wasn't as crowded as the day before and I headed to my locker while checking my watch. I was still early... the time being 7:45 and still a few minutes to spare.
Eva still hadn't arrived yet and so I decided to wait for her after I got the books I needed for the first period from my locker. This time I wasn't going to be late for class because I got here a few minutes early and I was already prepared for the next period so the odds of me being late was zero to none. But then again it's not like I had to worry about that... I thought, I got that covered by the Biology Sir.
Checking my watch I saw that it was heading for 8 o'clock and the school began to slowly fill up and become overcrowded once again. "Holy Wasabi!.." I exclaimed to myself, "I guess Eva will have to wait." I still had to go to the office to sort out the forms for the new student.
I asked the secretary to announce for "Felix Hunter," the new student, to make his way to the office's waiting room so that I could show him around the school. I got the papers he needed with a map to show him where his classes were and as I checked to see which classes he got, I saw that we got all the same classes together... Well, that explains the empty desks in my classes... I thought.
Walking out of the office the secretary then told me that the new student had arrived and was in the waiting room already. I headed out the doorway and turned to the right as I walked to the waiting room area, when I saw that "boy" with the glowing emerald green eyes. He was seated in one of the chairs but stood up as I walked towards him and then looked at me, as if he was trying to process who I was.
"It's you..." He said in a husky voice with a bit of surprise in his tone.
"You the new student?.." I asked in confusion with surprise written all over my face, "Felix Hunter?.."
I had no clue he was the new student, I thought he already attended our school and I figured the reason why I had never seen him before was because the school was filled with thousands of students but I guess, I was wrong.
You don't say, said the sarcastic voice in my head.
"But hey, that's me for you... If I'm not assuming things, I'm overthinking."
How could I not be surprised... The one person who I was avoiding was the one person I had to help, I mean, come on!.. Why?!.. And to think I thought it was going to be easy... I guess, in life there is always a catch in everything, I thought.
*Mentally hitting myself*
"Yes.." he replied, "I'm Felix Hunter."
And my catch was Felix Hunter, I thought to myself again.
I looked at him still in a bit of confusion... "Oh, I almost forgot..." I said to him as I handed him the yellow envelope, "here are your papers."
"Thanks!.." He said with a smirk as he looked down and then back up at me.
"It's okay..." I replied awkwardly, not knowing what else to say, "I would have done it for anyone."
"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself properly when we first met," he said smirking with a laugh, "but how about we start over."
I looked at him still in confusion... Start over?.. What does he mean?.. I thought.
"I'll go first..." He said.
"Okaaay..." I said still a bit hesitant in knowing what he meant.
"I'm Felix Hunter the new student and you are?.." He asked after his introduction.
"Oh," I said still in a bit of a daze, "I'm Alice."
"Well, it's nice to meet you Alice," he said, "but I'm still curious to know what your surname is."
There it is, I thought. In all honesty, I actually didn't want to tell him my surname but I guess he found me out.
"My name's Alice..." I said, "Alice Primrose."
I guess there is no turning back now, I thought. Now that he knows my surname, I am going to be very easy for him to find and to make things worse, we get all our classes together but he is a sweet guy and there is just something telling me that I can trust him... Like a gut feeling... I don't know what it is but it makes me feel this sense of safety whenever he is near me.
"Okay, now that I know your surname," he said with a naughty smirk on his face, "how about you, me and that date, after school?.."
To this I had no idea how to respond so I just laughed and gave a small smile... But I couldn't turn him down either because he was being all sweet and nice about it. Soo... I ended up saying "yes," I couldn't bring myself to say no because he was such a nice guy.
"Yes..." I said still a bit unsure about it.
"Don't worry..." He said as if he could pick up the hesitation in my voice.
Was it that noticeable? I thought.
"So... I'll pick you up around seven." He said as he scratched the back of his neck.
"How can you?.." I said. "You don't know where I live."
"Oh," he said scratching his head, "I'm sure I can figure something out."
"You can?.." I asked in confusion.
"How about you give me your number then?.." He said as I looked at him and then to my jacket pocket with my phone in it.
"Okay..." I said getting out my phone and then we exchanged numbers.
"Call me when you need me and I'll be there." He said once I got his number.
"Okay, I will." I said and I am not sure but I am pretty sure I was blushing because of him.
I walked with Felix and showed him around the school. Once I showed him around the place, I showed him where his locker was and then I told him that I'll be seeing him since I had to get back to class but he stopped me.
"What are you doing Felix?!.." I said as he held up my chin and stared into my eyes.
He didn't answer me and just looked into my eyes with his, almost like he was searching for something. His grip on my chin was firm but gentle and I was unable to move. All I could see was his glowing bright green orbs staring back into mine. I thought he was staring into my soul as I felt like I was drowning in the eyes that I had to stare back into, I was mesmerized by him.
Snapping out of my thoughts I asked him again... "Felix, what are you doing?!.."
When suddenly he brought his lips close towards mine... His lips were so close to mine that we were almost able to kiss but there was still an inch of space between us as I felt his breath lightly blow against my cheek. The suspense was killing me, it was beyond anything my heart could handle. To be... "so close but yet, so far..." and unable to know what to expect.
"Alice," he said in a whisper as I looked up with him still holding my chin in place, "you have no idea how badly I want to kiss you right now."
I looked at him with wide eyes as my heart began to pound in my chest like it was going to explode and my breath hitched at the sound of his words. His lips began to move closer towards mine, until there was no longer any distance between us and just as I closed my eyes to catch my breath, his lips lightly brushed against mine, they were so soft. Wait, what am I saying?!..
I was in shock but at the same time I was at ease as I sunk into the safety of his strong muscular arms. The kiss was so intense that I felt like I was melting as he held me against his chest and I felt his heart beat in sync with mine. Wait, what?!.. What is wrong with me today?!.. I thought to myself.
Suddenly, the bell rang and Felix then pulled away breaking the kiss in the process as he stared at me, looking as though he wanted to kiss me again... "Felix," I said still in a bit of a daze from the kiss, "we have to get to class."
