The next morning I woke up with a lazy yawn and looked at my alarm clock... "Oh, Shi... Shiitake Mushrooms!.." My alarm clock didn't go off and I was already an hour late... School starts at eight and I just woke up now... "It's 9 o'clock."
I got out of bed and looked to where the cat had snuggled up last night... at the edge of my bed. She had vanished. I figured she wouldn't have stayed but where could she have gone to, all the windows and doors in the house were either closed or locked. Oh, well... I thought, I'll just have to find her when I get home.
Wiping my eyes and still yawning I made my way to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth before taking a 15 minute shower. Drying myself off with my towel, I headed to my room with my towel still wrapped around me.
Quickly making my way to my closet, I brushed my hair, changed into a black skinny jeans with a light purple jersey, a grey scarf and a pair of brown ankle boots. Placing my foot on the chair by my dresser, I tied the laces of my boots and then checked my phone. It read 9:20... I was really late now...
Rushing out of my room I took my trench coat, an umbrella and grabbed a red apple from the fruit bowl in the kitchen. It was still raining outside so I put on my trench coat before reaching the front door. Once I had made my way out of my apartment I locked the door behind me, opened my umbrella as I rushed down the glossy steps and started to walk in the direction of my school.
"Thunder and lightning very, very frightening..." The thunder boomed loud in the clouds above me and I could see the lightning as it blazed through the sky and crashed violently towards the ground.
Being out in a storm like this is quite dangerous but I needed to get to school plus I had a job and I need to pay my rent so it was a must. What is the point of rushing now I am already very late... I thought, I might as well take my time and enjoy this apple that I had in my hand, the one I wasn't holding the umbrella with.
I started to eat the apple while I was still walking towards the school gates where I saw an unfamiliar boy with a black hoodie. He had kind eyes that were glowing emerald green in colour but I couldn't see his face completely, although I did catch a glimpse of his hair that appeared to be spiky and dark brown in colour.
His eyes is what made me stare at him, I don't know why but it was like I had seen them before.. Somewhere.... I really didn't know who he was but those eyes, those eyes.. had me stuck... Like I was drowning in them... Those bright emerald green orbs.
I stood there at the gate for I don't know how long as I gasped when I realised how close I had come to him. I was just a few inches away from him when he spoke...
"Are you lost?!.." Said a husky voice.
"No, why?..." I was confused.
"Because you seem to be staring..." he replied with a smirk plastered on his face, "have you never seen someone with green eyes before?.."
I looked at him even more confused.. "No, it's not that..." I stated. "It's just that you remind me of someone."
"Oh, well I guess I'm not the person you were looking for."
"Why would you say something like that? Do you want to be the person I am looking for?" I asked as I looked at him.
"Maybe..." He said smirking.
I stood there with my mouth agape... Did he really just say that? I thought. Don't keep your mouth open like that, said the sarcastic voice in my head, you might catch flies.
I paused for a bit.
After getting my mouth to close I managed to speak again...
"What are you doing out here anyway?" I asked him.
"I can ask you the same question..." He said.
This guy is like an obstacle course when it comes to his answers... I thought. Damn, smart ass.
"No, really..." I asked him, "what are you doing because it's raining and..." I was just about to finish my sentence when he stopped me.
"I like coming out here when it's raining..." he said, "it helps me to think and the smell of rain is nice like fresh air."
I looked at him strangely... "So you bunked.." I stated.
"Yeah, I guess you caught me. Take me to the office and get me expelled why don't you..." He said sarcastically.
"No, it's none of my business... I'll just go.." I said.
It was raining heavier than usual and I needed to get to class. I was really, really late now...
"No it's fine you don't have to go.." He said.
"Sorry, but I have to get to class... I am really late. See you..." I said as I dashed off slightly waving.
"Wait!" I heard him say before I left and was on my way to my class.
I had all my books in my bag. I didn't even stop by my locker to put some of them away and my bag was beyond heavy.
I knew I was in for a good scolding... Once I enter that History class.. I am either going to be publicly embarrassed or humiliated by my History Sir. Oh, and did I mention that he didn't care even if he knew there was a whole class watching. Wow, getting humiliated was one thing but being in front of an audience now that's a whole other level of punishment, well, for me anyway. I slowly creaked the classroom door open not wanting to be noticed. I looked in through the gap and saw that...
