Chapter comments on the chapter Captives? of the book A Rattling Monster [Completed] (Editing in Progress)

I understand the MC is supposed to be "bad" and that he likes to see his coworkers fail, but that is a far cry from having no emotions about slavery and rape. Since the MC didnt want to watch the orphanage children die, he obviously has similar emotions to regular people. That being the case I thought he would be more upset about the slavery and rape of those people in the room. It's one thing to not care about groups of people when you are plaguing a city. It's another thing to not feel bad when confronted with a specific situation.
