Not to be a party pooper but, author, you keep misusing the term "as if". Its a term that in most of your context has an opposite effect of what you want it to be. Example: "...he does not really care about it as if this is what he wants..." - 'as if' in this sentence implies an opposite fact because it means he WANTS fame, rather than to keep a low profile. It should be 'as this is what he wants'. The 'if' is a bit loony, gotta use it carefully.
