As always, my thoughts on the Legion is conflicted. While they do good work. Keeping the worst of the monsters contained, making sure that the dungeon doesn't kill everyone, and generally *try* to help out fellow sapients.
Yet, the Legion is definitely the epitome of "history is told by the victors" . They make all the brutal things they do as noble or a means to an end. The human-monsters are a prime example. They force these criminals to eat biomass and then force them to serve the Legion, otherwise they would be killed. Like slavery.
Also if the Legion really did care about the surface instead of their own power. They would actually share their information with others. If the whole surface had the teachings of the Legion, then the Dungeon would probably been conquered already.
Anyway, great chapter. Glad we had another Legion POV. It's nice to see what the other side is thinking.
my sympathy for the legion has its limits I mean these guys turn people into literal monsters they make bargains with demons yet they have a completely sentient ant colony this willing to negotiate and they go medieval on them
I wonder, what would happen if the sentient races were forced to adapt to the dungeon? The Legion truly believes that all monsters should be annihilated, and yet I am curious as to how they’d react when they themselves become akin to the monsters they fought. It is quite hypocritical for them to say such things when truly; if taken metaphorically they are the ones seen as monsters too.
At this point the Legion should be worried about the possiblity of a third bigger & thicker gate. They fight against Colony after all. By the time the Legion managed to breach the second gate, the Colony may have finished the third gate.. LOL
Thx for the chap. Tis nice to see the interaction between the auxiliary troops and the legion. Nice to get an idea as to how they are mentally. Pretty cool that it is dependent on the person whether they have control over the "monster", just like the other legioneers. Keep up the work and may your beard flourish.
