truthfully the change of Di Chen is so forced that it's quite annoying to say the least. people in his position with his character don't change that way after suffering loss after loss.......author tried to conceal this fact as much as possible but it doesn't really help. this is the cliche antoganist that no matter how many times you defeat (in some novels even kill but he somehow comes back lol) he will come back, stronger and stronger. not liking this at all....

Lol, his enemies just helped him turn a large number of almost useless slaves into a slightly smaller number of extremely angry and motivated potential warriors.
