I still think the author overestimates the strength of calvary versus infantry and fails to utilize both to their fullest potential. Roman legions, English pikemen and longbow archers... calvary sucked against those unless used wisely in conjunction with other infantry units to take them down, but hey, were talking about Chinese who think they know best and it is the author's world after all.

That dying scene of Zhan Lang is just epic. Dying while laughing.

If Zhang Lan pays to revive his troops (assuming that's an option for a Lord that died, and not too expensive) then a tough battle like that might let some of his troops break through and get stronger.

That zhan lang is quite a character. Maybe aside from player recognition what he aim for is for Gaia to officially recognise his position as the head for the Chinese region later on giving him much needed advantages to govern. Cause these families won’t easily follow him as a leader unless Gaia said otherwise.
