This chapter is wrong in every sense of the word. Wine is HARAM (forbidden) in islam, so how can muslims be drinking it? Why are there whores in Somalia, when *****ery, fornication and sexual relations outside of marriage are HARAM? Why is the Somali guy's name spelled 'Farrah' when the name is meant to be spelled 'Farah'? It's like spelling 'Mike' as 'Mic': it doesn't make any sense. Why are the Somalians acting like Chinese people? Why are they saying that camel and horse meat are HARAM (forbidden) when it's actually perfectly halal (permissible)? The MC is Chinese, so is he speaking Chinese here, or is he speaking the local languages (Somali, Arabic)? Or are we meant to assume that the Somali chick just happens to speak fluent Chinese? I get that the author isn't Somalian, but he should still at least try to get the very basics correct. As a Somalian myself, this chapter was very difficult to stomach.

The author also assumes that every nation cares about "face" about as much as chinese do. Just remember: this novel is written by a chinese person and is tinged with nationalism and casual racism. If you take that in mind everything does kind of fall into place...even the issue of them not fully understanding other cultures can be attributed to this...

Be open-minded. Not everyone is that religious. If the Lord is not religious, wouldn't religion not play a huge part in his realm? Also, do you think pirates who pillage and kill put proper religious teachings in their minds? Religion would just be a scapegoat for their sins.

even in the most religious place, the dark side could still thrive. after all, those are related to the desires of man. maybe only in holy cities like mecca or vatican that this dark side could be completely controlled.

While prostitution is illegal in Somalia it's not absent, though there are very few willing prostitutes "UNAIDS estimated there were 10,957 *** workers in Somalia in 2016" That being said the tavern lady is more of a "Tavern Wench" attracted to a man with money and power for a good time, then a prostitute. It's a common literary device.

Lol when a foreign country offers aid you don’t take command of there troops. Can you imagine if Somalia tried to take command of a Chinese army today lol

if im not mistaken farrah is the western spelling for farah. wine indeed is haram but the author did mention they in an inn so its like alcohol sold at any pub or hotel in muslim country. But i agree author didnt bother to research thoroughly about other culture and religion.

The other doesn’t have to make sense. It’s his book. Don’t like it, don’t read it. Nobody cares about your oversensative feelings lol. If it was written by an Islamic person and Islam took over the world. Someone else would be butt hurt and you would probably praise it’s accuracy. So shut up and read the book. Nobody is 100% accurate, nor do they need to be, in any form of literature. Be it a book, screen play, poem, movie script, or anything else lol.

i feel that it is a safe assumption that everybody's religious beliefs were moderately shaken when they decided to hop on board spaceships and abandon their planet before it was destroyed...

It seems to me Chinese created a new world in their mind. Not everybody in the world care about face so much. More than often they would rather feign weakness than attack when they are strong. It almost seems like China judged the standard of the world according to their preconceived prejudice and what they read in their state sponsored news
