I've read up to chapter 90 and skimmed through the rest. I would not recommend this series, and even for me who has read a lot of novels, this is just terrible.
1) MC - The author, almost every chapter, talks about how ordinary or average or untalented the main character is. This author hates their own main character for some odd reason. Like literally making everyone around him talented/handsome and him getting constantly shit on wherever he goes or looked down upon. And when he helps people, they barely even care about him, only keeping him along as baggage. I literally have no idea what in the **** the author is thinking. I hate OP protagonists, but watching the life of some unremarkable eternal servant with no personality being pushed around isn't exactly what I'd call a MC.
2) One dimensional characters. There is no critical thinking, tons of arrogant young masters, and the only defining feature of the side characters is that every single one of them is more handsome/talented than the MC. Literally all of them. Like, all of them. When I say every single side character is more handsome and talented than the main character, I'm not kidding. The author said it at least a hundred times how untalented the mc is compared to everyone else. I mean, there was literally chapters dedicated to how handsome and how much *** the main characters friend (Darkfire) has.
3) Not a good plot. I'll admit the writing quality is good, but the plot itself is pretty bad. Subpar world building and the only exposition we get is when magic is described but it won't matter because of how untalented the main character is. Author introduces cool concepts and powers but for some reason gives them to an untalented, bland, and ordinary mc who does nothing but be a subordinate for others? The factions are pretty subpar and one dimensional. Despite being in a war that affects the very life of the Order, there is still incompetent people left in charge over talent.
I felt very strange reading this. I won't deny that my style of immersion is self-inserting, so this novel left me with a terrible aftertaste. Despite reading 90 so chapters and skimming a bunch more, the only things I remember is how stupid, unremarkable, ordinary, untalented, not handsome, no luck with girls, etc the MC is. If you can read a mediocre (compliment, it's actually way below average) story where the MC is hated on by the author I guess you'll enjoy this.
This story starts off and within the first few chapters it hooks you in and makes you want to keep reading and asking for more. The further you read the more you want to read. The characters develop very well, the story is easy to follow along and makes you feel like the main character. It's well written and the world is brilliantly made. Absolutely wonderful book.
I have nothing overly critical to say about it. This has proven most pleasant reading up until now and I hope future chapters keep up the great things that have led up to this point in the story. The reading experience throughout the entire work was most pleasing because rarely were my theories about the subsequent events right, the author exceeds my expectation with every other paragraph and nothing can tear my attention away from it when I'm immersed in any one chapter. I've just caught up to chapter 419, and I don't know how the stability of updates has been so far, but if the outcome can be as impressive as the rest has been there should be no problem with waiting and building up my curiosity. Given how the author can't cease to make memorable arcs and the battle descriptions are usually quite fluid, I can feel the next chapters will be brimming with action and even more ways of getting rid of risky foes with crafty, if somewhat dangerous, methods.
listen. this is a great adventure story. the world building is detailed. the characters are fleshed out with their own motives and agendas. I really can't recommend this book enough. that being said, as of 18nov2020, the author has stopped updating the book due to health concerns. the other hand if the book and I are waiting on the edges of our seats for more updates. once again, i love this book.
Although the author hasnt updated the book in a while, I would still 100% recomend this book!
Whether its by accident or by design, the world building is amazing. Little things that happen early on get expanded upon in such a way that they keep openning up new planes of acheivement and conquest for the MC.
I think the fact that as you read on more of the world and more of the MCs ability becomes known. If you found out everything straight away, whats the point.
Fingers crossed the author starts writing again become I am almost to keen to find out what happens next!
Tomvandyke! Please continue writing this novel! This story is unique and well written, while it may not be updated, I have enjoyed the story so far. With that said, this story has so mych potential! I would love to discover how this ends for the mc.
this is a very interesting and good novel. Unforunately the update frequency is not very good . sometimes we have to wait for more than a month until the story continues and a cliffhanger is resolved.. i am thankfull for all the chapters but i fear we will not see a lot of new ones in the future
This is one of my favorite novels. It has a rough start with the power building being kinda all over the place but the author corrects it as the novel goes on. It honestly gets much better as the story progresses bit unfortunately this novel may never be finished. For those just coming to this novel the author had some health issues and was updatimg readers about it but we havent heard in some time. I wish the author all the best, he truly was making a great novel but before reading consider that this novel may never update again
The beginning and especially the middle were interesting and intense until the desolation arc felt like it dragged on. One of the most exciting moments is the possible future that a powerful god-like character keeps revealing. I just hope the story can eventually gets moving towards that possible outcome.
Everything you could ask for in a progression fantasy story. The main character has many adventures and power levels on occasion. Though luck does play a factor in the plot, it doesn't detract from the fun.
This is definitely a great read and I'd recommend this to everyone. I am slightly disappointed with the updating schedule, but understand that everyone has a life. I would like to see some "Paragon of Destruction" action (Maybe a breakthrough with his destruction realm...). I would also like to see MC find some more realm portals (Maybe fire?). It also seems that whenever MC finds a girl either nothing develops or she ends up leaveing (Maybe he can finally find a girlfriend?). Over all this is a GREAT book and I can't wait to see more chapters...
The story is beautiful , it is full of interasting encounters with a lot of surprises , the author is fighting to continue the story ,so don't be surprised if you don't see new chapters . I shall wait patiently
Alright guys so I must say off the bat the reviews about how stupid and frustrating the MC is are partly true. The thing is, the MC has a very drastic growth arc. Please believe me when I say when he finally starts to mature and actually use his brain this story goes from average to easily one of the best stories on this site. The world and system are very interesting and are slowly being flushed out more and more. The MC actually grows and learns from his frustrating stupidity in the early chapters and I think this change is part of what makes the later chapters so freaking good. That and he slowly starts to show his amazing talent with magic and his ability to learn complex things quickly. I just ask for readers to push through the beginning of the story where the MC is almost unbearably naive and overconfident because after that I promise you will look up and realize that you have caught up to the current chapters and you'll be craving more.
The writing is quite eventful, just takes a while to update. The writer is sick so i understand if it takes a while, as a reader though I've already forgetten part of the plot line by the time its updated, it's just frustrating to have to re-read everything to know whats going on.
His adventure is very good, like seeing a boy reaching the very top slowly. The only thing that bothers me the most is how MC thinks dumb when he is alone, i mean he makes good decisions when he is with other people but he suprisingly becomes dumb when he is alone even after experiencing some things when he used a lot of gold on a city on the empire he still made the same mistake when he was on the 6th valley and gave years worth of consumables for body refiners. But other than the mc becoming dumb the story is fine, really good and still waiting for the update
order and chaos, when will people learn that there is no perfect order and there is never complete chaos, order is born from chaos and chaos from order, take society for example, the rules and laws are order, but there will always be someone who rebels(chaos) whether its teens, theifs etc, and it a chaotic society theres always going to be someone who wants it to be peaceful and calm(order), the yin/yang diagram shows it best half the circle is white with a dash of black, and the other half is black with a dash of white.
I have re-read this novel twice now and I love it, I think its the best webnovel has to offer .The author has weaved a meticulous and interesting story and it would be awesome if it is updated regularly with more chapters. Hands down the best webnovel, if you have been sleeping on it, read it ASAP.
This is a great book if you don't mind the slow story development. The world background is vast and a good portion of the story is basically an adventure so if you like those kind of stories this book is even better for you
Very good plot unlike your usual novels where they're OP after 30 chapters. Love the character's development which quite unique. My only gripe i have is that the author for some reason is unable to stick to the 1 chapter per day he had previously stated in the synopsis. Hopefully this will get back to normal soon and have a steady flow of chapters once again.
