Duck, I thought I was going to like this book, but apparently it’s one of those idiotic characters you want to see fail.

Early on he should actually invest in all stats equally, because if 10 points is his baseline, each point is a significant increase, and just getting a stat to 20 means he's twice as good as before. So I'd say, put points equally in every stat, until he gets 30 everywhere, and then specialize in 1 or 2 stats according to a thought-out strategy. Agility can be good, because speed lets you both attack and evade better. Intellect can be interesting depending on what the actual effects are, and it can also let him go the magic route. The rest of the stats are not too important, as long as he doesn't neglect them too much.

This guy just tells the internet he can see stats and ****. The phenomenon is clearly uncommon, did you expect the supposed other person who can also see stats to see your question on the internet?
