This story is amazing. The worldbildin is wonderful and the main caretaker Laurel is both incredibly wise and naive. And in a way that makes sense: She is the oldest Drayad in the world of course she knows a lot of stuff but of course that doesn’t involve things like how human (or elven for that matter ) society woks as they don’t mess with her woods she doesn’t have a reason to care. So she being dragged out of her comfort zone is incredibly interesting and entertaining to read .

Ahem this my friends is a very good story. Is it slow and lack action in the beginnings? Yes. But does it have enjoyable slice of life elements and actual character depth!? Hell to the yes! Besides how many stories have a plant spirit for a main character!? I can count the number of plant protagonists on one hand! Besides there are over 60 chapters on this one story alone! So you can binge read which is great! So why are you still reading this? Go read already!

A strong opening story for the author. The characters as introduced so far are engaging and believable. The character Istan is a favorite of mine from the first three chapters. Leafia is another favorite, but she will get her turn to shine a little later in the story. And of course, Laurel and Faun's banter makes my day. Yes I am giving my self 5 stars. I hope that you enjoy the book. I will try for 1 to 2 chapters a week. The PG rating is because there will be some fighting later on.
