While it's got some good points it takes off kind of slow and the MC is to be blunt a rapist, he rapes at least two women. The one he rapes had been fed a 'must have sex or die' drug by her unwanted fiance that he COULD have treated with his medical skills but preferred the 'more fun way' as he put it. The other she's a spokesperson for a faction in their sect looking to get him to throw a fight to make their faction look better so being angry about that he declares he wants her then promptly rapes her thinking she's probably a whore when in fact she's a virgin, something he does after he himself was previously drugged up just like the girl he raped by a lesbian that wanted to find out what was so great about having sex with men. At least his second rape victim he almost kind of admits to himself he was in the wrong and lets her run him through with a sword as penance.
So if a rapist MC crosses your bottom line this is not a novel for you.
