Great story. It moves fast, and while some people may complain that there are insufficient secondary characters, this is also part of the reason why it can move fast. I am enjoying the lack of nasty characters who try to get revenge for (what I consider) no reason ("he is interacting with the woman who will be mine", "we fought and he won. How dare he humiliate me like that", "I'm all that, yet he didn't give me what I wanted when I told him to", etc..). I'm okay with evil characters trying to kill the MC to further their dastardly plots ;-)
I can mostly ignore the grammar problems, weird word combinations that don't make any sense and the sentences starting with lowercase instead of upper. I would suggest Grammarly but I know it's not cheap.
Hmm, at this point I should just write a review, right? Right!
My few bits:
-very short chapters that at least 20% ive skipped
-good chunk of space takes all stat screen
-besides system info here and there its feels more like cultivation novel than vr game
I'm really happy with this story so far! There are no side characters and small-time antagonists to slow the story down, sure I sometimes enjoy a little friendship and bonding but it ends up with unnecessary side quests and plots that slow the story down.
There is also no romance, harems or the mc thinking with his dick which is great! I have lost count of how many interesting novels I have found that have been ruined by harems, perverted Mc/authors and the mc just being lead by his dick. I kid you not one novel I found had the mc have $*x with a drugged up female lead in the second chapter. So I am rather happy to see none of these things are happening right now.
Finally, I would like to ask a few questions and voice a few concerns.
1. Is Ian going to develop his long-range abilities more? Since he wants to survive and preserve his life would it not be better to develop his long-range skills such as his bowmanship and dagger arts? Maybe develop what looks like magical abilities in the cover of the novel?
2. When will he be able to hatch the thunder lion cub? It seems like hes able to now do so and it might help him to have a loyal companion that isn't an AI.
3. Will Ian start to develop his other weapon masteries? I understand that having a unique sword like lightning cloud lead to him using swordsmanship more often but I would like to see him using his other masteries as well. Maybe he could find a similar weapon to lightning cloud or lightning cloud can absorb other unique weapons that are not swords. This would allow him to not be limited to just using his daggers and lightning cloud reliably whenever he wants to go all out.
4. Will Ian pursue harmony? This ties into all the other questions about his abilities but in a different way. We saw that when he got all the weapon masteries that he could he ended up with the weapon master ability, the same happened when he developed their energies and when his stats all surpassed 10. What I want to know is if he does continue that trend and if he doesn't will he lose the harmony boosts that he got or will his stats be affected negatively. For example, if he develops his swordsmanship too much then will he have his swordsmanship sealed, his strength stat crippled or the sword energy/sword ki try to overwhelm the others and causing damage inside his body and even damaging his nerves. This would be interesting as he already experienced life with damaged nerves before so the fact that it could happen again would light a fire up his ass and force him to stop neglecting his other skills.
