Okay, this is my best attempt at being objective about my own work. For those of you who don't know/ haven't figured it out, The Intelligent Potter is a work I started writing over 3 years ago, over on FanFiction.Net, and I was a much different writer then than I am now, and I've got to say that I've gotten a LOT better at writing than I used to be. TIP was my first shot at a 100k+ word story of any kind, and since I started, I've taken part in 2 NNWMs, and written one other novel-length piece as well. My writing has gotten a lot better, in the last fifty chapters than it was in the first thirty or so. The quality of writing, I would say, is simple and casual, but fairly engaging. It suffers from some repetition, and falls into the trap of too many adverbs to try and give meaning, which are sometimes not requires. As well as this, details are sometimes sparse, and I have been told before that I write a little bit barebones. However, my writing is also enjoyed by a lot of readers, and is a fairly good style, I think. The story is very well structured, and I am very happy with how it is turning out. There are fairly regular cliffhangers and I tackle a lot of things in new and innovative ways. I use some tropes, but I turn others completely on their heads. I promise you will not see everything coming. I have fleshed out the world a fair bit in some chapters as well, and I think it is better than Rowling's own worldbuilding at the least, though it has the least worldbuilding out of my own personal projects. Overall, I would say that 'The Intelligent Potter' is definitely worth the read, if you're willing to bear with the writing near the beginning, and enjoy plot and characters and awesomeness more than flowery and beautiful writing.

I was told he was a "intelligent" HP, but maybe I was mistaken. Maybe it can be related to his immaturity as a child or something similar, but it's simply not my cup of tea... Better luck next time bub

Maybe it's just me, but the author seems to really be trying to push a harry + hermione fanfiction. they're only 11, no need to rush bits like that in yet.

I really like the potter universe, and the premise of this story caught my eye. I didn't make it past chapter 6 though. What's the point in making a whole different time-line when he somehow has impossible leaps of knowledge that he couldn't possibly have since you changed the things he learned and knows of? Seriously I spend half my time interested and the other half frowning while I read.

one I have read this book and it inspired me but also it was nice even though the story got rough halfway through the story but in the end it was good

As soon as I saw the title I knew it would be a good book but it exceeded my expectations

Was a fantastic story but once chapter 41 hit I had to drop it.... the comment section from that chapter and chapter after(skipped to see comments) were saying the same thing. Ruined a potential fantastic fanfic but made Daphne somehow able to keep up with the dueling world champion and tri wizard Harry lol he’s OP but somehow daphne is equal to him and then Hermione who is smarter in this fanfic actually blurts out his invisibility cloak the first two minutes she meets Daphne... ruined her character so in my opinion don’t bother

Love this story, i always personally disliked how in the canon (most of the time) harry either relied in luck or Hermione to get through **** but this story is dope showing how harry would be pretty op if he actually applied himself to things. hope this story keeps going the way its going.

I read a lot of “intelligent” Harry Potter fanfics and I always thought, “Why J.K. Rowling never thought of this!?” there's so many faults on cannon that I can't help wish for redo! 😂🤦

This book is amazing dude its (at least what i believe) to be a relatively perfect amalgamation of fan fiction and the original story it plays out in a way that lets harry simultaneously be different and the same from his book/movie counter part. (Ngl tho one of the primary reasons i like this ff is because i ship harry and Hermione lol)

this a script not a novel example scene 1 in the corridor you will talk with hermione and then cut scene 2 you and hermione will be in the library and talk there and cut scene 3 hagrids hut you will with hagrid along with hermione and cut scene 4 already inside the castle you will with hermione about hagrid you are making a facking script not a novel, the flow of the story is nowhere to be found you cut a part of the story and skipped to the next part

So... he just decides one day he'll get smart and then he does and is now some 180iq genius or something? And for some reason ron seems even more annoying and hermione seems just as dense and 5 times stupider. The plot doesnt move forward like a book it feels more like... I guess just a narration.. hard to explain but it doesnt feel right I dont feel any emotions over anything its just 'he did this' 'he said that'

It’s a great story. Love it. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and I loved this book. I just wish I could have more chapters. Oh well. It’s okay. I’ll just get it later on, I guess.

The story is ok, but I had to try 2 times to read it and 2 times I dropt it at around chap. 60. The reason is that the story just gets to convoluted for my taste. At some point the story is far less about Harry Potter and more about all the crap in the world of Harry Potter. The addition of Greengras made it only worse, she just drops in more or less and is just another with an agenda. While wie don't have to wait long to see what it is all about it is just frustrating to have a additional character in the story that just feels hollow and lacks the depth to have any meaning. The beginning of the story was great but by the end of the 1 year it driftet of. It startet to go in the direction of a mistry novel with 10.000 plot point but without it depth. Maby a nice read for some but sadly just not my cup of tea

if this was really a smart potter from your pov author i dont wanna see the stupid pov thanks for your hard work but i didnt enjoy it too many stuff that me as a reader have to accept them even if they dont make sense as if this was a Chinese novel, long story short this isn't about a smart potter at all

I don't like to write negatives but ... The book is average. Good for HP fans but even they will notice a large dose of the author's immaturity. Shallow story and heroes.

Good start but plot progression since start of training arc by black and Dumbledore didn't seem interesting to me. Mc(Harry Potter) has a huge improvement in smarts compared with original.

I don't know why this 50-plus chapters novel does not have a rating yet. Seems interesting, author broaden the world background. Seems weird for me but still ok for a cup of tea. Author decision to exclude Ron is superb haha.

The story is quiet interesting and I love logical part of the fic it adds what was not there in og while its good and story si far has far more entertaining but what it lacks is character development and the interaction between MC and others he needs personality

Good story so far. My only complaint is that in later chapters you start to post the last few paragraphs of the previous chapter like we need a recap of what we just read. I do not believe this is necessary, but other than that I have greatly enjoyed your story and hope you continue it.
