In Athia, countries are ruled by the Heroes and Villains of Earth, King Arthur rules over Britain, Dracula over Romania and Joan of Arc over France. These Heroes and Villains do not age but can be killed by one another in combat.

When one of them is killed, the killer inherits the abilities and territories of the killed. Alongside the rulers, other heroes are littered around the world, the knights of the round table, Robin hood and many others.
