Hello, Author of Project Overworld here!
Just to let you all know that this story is currently indefinitely paused (I got myself a job and I'm only doing some writing in my free time now).
I haven't brought myself to set the state of this story into "Completed" yet since I feel like the ending is a bit rushed and there are some ideas worth investigating for a potential sequel.
In any case, I had a wonderful time writing and releasing this novel on this website, so much so that writing became one of my favorite hobbies out there.
I hope you all will enjoy reading Project Overworld if you are new to it, or other wonderful stories if you've already reached the ending point of my novel!
A great story. I like the idea, the characters, the plot and well, the whole novel in general!
The story covers an interesting alternative reality which has amasing vr technology in which the story is set in a sandbox survival game. The MC uses their knowledge to build, thrive and succeed.
I won't give anymore spoilers but I will say that it is at a turning point where it could go in many different ways (once the author returns). I look forward to seeing where the story goes, whether to space, deeper into simulation or maybe someplace I can't fathom.
I have looked high and low across the internet and can't find anything quite like it. I truly recommend that anyone who enjoys reading give it a try, you may be surprised.
I will gladly continue to wait for the author to return, even if it takes another 15 months.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you will/have read this and love it as much as I do.
Its an interesting read. The setting is basically Rust VR. The characters are all somewhat bland and the pacing is irregular. Often nothing happens for a few chapters, then everything at once. The biggest issue I have with it though is the lack of understanding the author has on the many scientific topics the story touches.
An interesting direction for a virtual world novel, has good consistency between short time skips and understanding the projects that happened during them. along with a young man discovering his interests in engineering and having the freedom to move on his own.
Pretty good, Takes a different approach to world development, and also it tries to be in line with reality and what could happen in the future. Maybe in the future, if such a full-immersion virtual reality game where it focuses on the development of humanity and our technologies is released this is mostly how it will play out. IN MY OPINION.
The story itself is a little to fast for my liking but everything else have been done wonderfull Main character is logical and Well described, side characters aswell this novel is perfect for someone who wants to read something similiar to "Out of Space" or "dungeon robotics" or even "tree of Aeons " basically stories about development and technological gap
If you liked doctor Stone then this is the book for you. Its pretty similar to it in most aspects, excpet...... FASTER and haste to say it t but maybe a tad bit more exciting. I may change my review as the story progresses.
in all honesty sure it's a vr game but it's supposed to be as real as possible also the amount of BS and the jumps in logic is absurd even in a real vr game you don't go from caveman to having guns in les then a real time week
This was a great idea for a story just badly implemented, there is hardly any good buildup in background or character growth feels kinda boring with no background, nothing done outside of the game in "RL".
The Game doesn't really have any game elements as far as ive read.
The Mc just finds everything and suddenly creates things out of nowhere.
It's kinda like Mc is a wannabe Dr.Stone or whatever.
overall it's just meh.
This is my favorite book, although there are a few things that have wrong grammar, mainly at the start of the book. If the author could maybe go back and edit it with the skills they gained while writing the rest of the book, that would most likely be appreciated by newer readers. Awesome book would recommend reading! : )
best damn book I've ever read and I hope you continue to update it because I think its a masterpiece and the mc is also smart but emotionless [img=recommend]
Take my 5 stars, take my 6 and 7 stars. This novel is the reason I came to webnovel, I read it on a friends account first, then I decided to create my own account to keep reading. I love this book and will continue giving it my power stones. Give it a try, if you donβt like it thatβs fine, but donβt just brush it off.
This book is honestly amazing and im surprised that it hasnt gotten more attention. The only dissatisying thing is there arent more chapters. This book deserves its five star ratings. Im absolutely wanting to see how far our main character can push technology into the future. Itd also be really cool to see someone take insperation from this story to help push ourselves past this bottleneck in technology.
good πππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
This is one of the few really interesting vr novels out there. The take on the game concept is extremely cool i mean i want this game in real life im not some crazy inventor but the freedom and creativity of the game itself is awesome. HIGHLY HIGHLY! Recommend to read this novel its really good!
I'm admiring the story and plot... The characters are comprehensive for the story. This story just makes me wanna wriggle and feel tingly within.
If you don't mind, please read my web novel and don't forget to give a review:
- Let Me Choose You
- Who Are You
- Facing Into The Sky
Thanksπ€π€π€
Even though the story is Quite fast pace it is only going tHat fast because the MC has the tech advantage that he should slowly spread with everyone else

Nonsensical "realistic" crafting where one guy can make few guns and cannons in few days without any experience. Good idea for a story, terrible execution.
How to HELL did i miss this book. I literally check new original books everyday. Damn. I binged watched it all lmao. Good book man. Excited to see abt the future of the novel and the vr world. Damn hats off thinking of such an idea and pulling it off expertly.[img=update]
I love this novel like i really like it. The idea is sooooo good. The MC is always determined to be ahead of the population in terms of technology for example hes out here making rockets and these guys are struggling to make wooden bikes. Although the MC does change his decisions a lot for example he said he doesnβt want to help anyone but then he blows up a terroist group with bombs. I also think the MC will start up a channel as a source of income so he can experiment with different materials IRL. Either way i highly recommend you check out this hidden gem.
