I don't think she should ever be in his life. She should eventually forgive, but that would be for her benefit. His betrayal and pain he caused are, terrible. She should never forget. She shouldn't accept him back.

I like how the author displays his refusal to admit his wrong doings even to himself as this is how most people behave when they do something wrong. Most real people don’t change overnight but would actually behave the way he did. I dislike his character but can appreciate the psychologically behind it. Also Shirley’s character is like me- i will give people chances if they deserve it but I won’t stick around for those who hurt me.

He doesnt seem like the type to truely feel the kind of earth shattering regret for the pain he caused Shirley that would change him to change his inner self and start treating, talking and thinking about people in a kinder, better way. Right now he is just upset he lost a girlfriend and the benefits that go along with that. So his punishment would be to never see her again or if he did, she is with a guy that adores and protects her. Something he did not do.

I hope he isnt the ML. She needs a better guy. I would never go back to someone who cheated on me.
