At the same time, a row of unexplainable events starts to trigger each other in society. A manufacturing flaw in the car's microchips quickly turns the roads into car-cemeteries. The trains are affected by electrical defects, the shelves in stores are empty, the summer colds are getting worse, and the power outages become a part of everyday life.

On Karlsborgs Airport, the elite soldier Gustaf Silverbane stands ready for foreign aid when something terrible goes sideways, and a firelight fills the sky. The survivalist Filip Stenvik gets to see his earlier ridiculed hobby turn into something deadly serious. In the increasing uncertainty, the police officer Peter Ragnhell drives his already unconventional methods for crime-fighting to its tip.
