"Prez, are you alright?" Takuya asked as he hastily took out a handkerchief and tried to wipe the blood from Kenjirou's eyes.
"Don't worry about me. It's just a scratch."
As he moved his hand away, the bleeding has already stopped, and the cut has already closed up.
"That girl, she's completely different from everyone else. She's broken free and can see us, but might not be infected yet? It's too strange, we have to go after her." Takuya prepared to give chase, but he was promptly stopped.
"Wait! Don't do anything rash."
Kenjirou pulled out his phone.
"Mitsuhide, it's me."
"Yeah, what's up Kenjirou?" A sleepy voice replied from the other side. "If it's about that girl…Ryuuko, I think her name was? I'm already tracking her. I heard everything in your little exchange, and I must say, your diplomacy is as bad as ever."
"Just make sure nothing happens to her."
"Yes, yes. I'm on it."
Kenjirou sighed as he closed the phone.
"So, what do we do now Prez?"
"For now, it's best if we just observe her. If Mitsuhide is tracking her, hopefully we'll be able to prevent anything from happening to her." He replied nervously.
When I had first started to write this story, I had already decided on which type of narrative to use.
I chose first person because I wanted to create a more personal experience with the main character. By seeing the story through their point of view, I wonder am I able to allow the reader to understand them better? Would they be able to connect with them? Understand their motives? Their thoughts? Their fears? Or will everything just fall flat because the character is unlikable or I screwed up somehow.
Of course, there are some annoyances to deal with. Eventually you have to shift gears when the story require a more opened world view.
The intermissions, I hope will be able to tie up the open gaps between the stories as well as connect it together. It's difficult though, to suddenly have to change narrative and rethink how it will work out. Sometimes you get so used to the 1st person P.O.V, everything starts to feel better with it and vice versa.
Now, let's see if I can do this right.
