Quality writing so far, but I can’t be immersed because the setup doesn’t pass the smell test. What is the point of the Xis doing what they’re doing? As far as the cover story goes, it’s not plausible, so I assume they have an ulterior motive ... but the implausibility of the cover story still makes this hard to swallow.

Thanks for the chapter. It so well written. I am not a fan of axes but he is a viking so who cares. That 2% bloodline should be his "cheat" maybe son of a male that survived the xis? Need to read more to know.
