why is every male warrior a berserker? is this a miss conception about vikings? historically berserkers were a type of viking warrior.
usually an elite unit, that hypnotized themselves( or drugged depending on your view) with rituals to make themselves forget pain and embody animal spirits. usually a berserker (berserkir = bearskin or bearshirt) would wear animal skin, bear or go without anything covering there uper body howling like a wolf or trying to sound like a bear.
Btw all viking warriors looked towards Odin but berserkers took this one step further but not as far as wolfskins (called Ulfhednar <-- had to google this name :P )
according to one of the sagas berserkers were odins guards.
and that is some/most of the things I think i know about berserkers :p
The story is awkward so far. The reason, I think, is a lack of subtlety. It also seem too many character are being introduced without giving at least one or two a profile of sorts.
