Yep Silver Wing just shot themselves on the foot. Well Hawk should have been more careful. He had already made one mistep n paid for it, know he did it twice.

I feel like the Author just simple forced an issue here just to split silver wing/Hawk/Link form the MC and F6 without trying to develop a solid reason. Hawk, as a reasonable high enough rep for Sliver Wing would know better then the contrived reason to get gold, specially from a far strong guild that a good relationship with would out weigh short term gains. So this is just a case of the Author making character less intelligent then the probably should be. Also, just for two cases and completely severing ties with a bit overboard, specially as blows weren't traded.

I don't think it'll end up being a holy war. Hawk will be mad, and most likely confront Roland, but Roland was right, this is something they started and Hawk did nothing to try to fix the issues, he chose to stick to the "It's my guild, we're always right" mentality people have. I'm not saying Hawk should leave the guild, now that would be unreasonable, but standing by when he knows something is wrong on their end, after everything He and Link did to remove the nobles (more extreme, but still) seems less reasonable to me. I think the IDEA of a holy war in game sounds cool, but I don't see it happening, not do I see the guilds full on fighting. Silver Wings are smarter than that and don't want to make an enemy of the mages association, F6, not the top mage in the game, especially if it came out WHY they started the war and everything Roland had done for them basically for free between the mages building the docks, helping them get set up in the town overall, etc. Hawks not a genius, but he's smart enough to not end up looking like Moon Shadow to the public. I saw people saying this frels contrived, and maybe they're right, but it was Hawk & Link who started this, then allowed Suel to continue acting the same way, Silver Wings has basically been building up to this point of "Our guild is better than other people", just without being directly rude about it and saying out loud.

Honestly, most guilds I’ve joined were like this. It’s not a problem of capitalism, but oligarchy, Almost every organization concentrates power and wealth at the top. Everyone else is a corporate slave. Even DKP systems don’t help much.

I like what the author is doing here. At first I felt the story was pushing the failing relationship between Roland and Silver Wings by constantly telling us that they were no longer close friends. But it felt forced, and telling doesn't mean much. Since this last mission, I feel like I'm being shown what's hiccuping in their relationship and that's believable.
