Here's a different type of traditional wuxia/cultivation novel for you. If I could describe it in a sentence, then it would be; "a brutal, grimdark cultivation novel." There's no empathy and it accurately portrays the harsh, competitive environment, where everyone climbs a mountain of bodies in order to fight for resources and get stronger. Everything makes "sense" and the actions of the MC is logical - though brutal at times. The MC is, what you would call, a "villainous" MC, and the reason for the apostrophe is due to the fact that his actions are sometimes necessary, but it also displays his arrogance and dominance as a talent. You really get a feel for his character in the first chapter, and I'll insert a warning here, it can be *very* jarring. You read it, and then think, "No way can this be the MC. He's a total dick." But because he's a dick and not a spineless, dickless MC, unlike many other traditional wuxia novels, it's refreshing - but in a dark and twisted way. Spoiler here; in the first intro, he had just forced a girl of a rival sect to oral sex, and killed her lover in front her, and then killed her once done. Though the oral part is not mentioned explicitly, it can be deducted, and because the story starts of with the females point of view/backstory, it really portrays the harshness and lack of empathy the MC has. You then keep reading, thinking, "no way is this the MC", and then he comes across another character, with MC vibes and you think, "Yes! Finally the 'real' mc and this scumbag gets his justice." But, (un)fortunately, no. This type of twists and turn keeps you reading, slowly getting addicted to the no-nonsense MC, where you slowly get to learn more about him, and his circumstances. With this slow reveal, you unconsciously begin to accept him, root for him, and accept his brutal ways. His lack of empathy in this competitive wuxia workd becomes his strength and makes him "cool." And as if to contrast this, you also slowly begin to realise how deeply flawed other wuxia novels are - they say that it's competitive, but none of their characters in their story takes the same measures. Think about it, if your life is constantly on the ropes, would you have time to go left and right to conquer beauties or spare you rivals? No! You'd use every means at your disposal to gain strength, plot against your rivals/enemies, and further you agenda. This brings me to the second point; the side characters. They are pretty well sculpted, with their own agenda, ideals, and background. As of now, not much is known, but the MC's flashback unveils a larger story and gives more depth to the side characters. If you think the MC's a dick? Wait till you meet enemy/***** nr. 1 - it's damn near chilling what she does to gain strength. There's no right or wrong in this world, only who's weaker or stronger. Might makes right - and in this novel, it does so in the most brutal, no-nonsense, unfiltered kind of way. Dark pleasures, anyone? As of chapter 18, we've been introduced to some superficial side characters, and a few prominent ones - we're still learning more and more of the plot and MC, but not much has been revealed. This brings me to the story progression, I can see that the author is taking the long route; slowly building the characters, their relations, and unveiling a bit of the world a chapter at a time. We don't know why the character wants to become strong or why he's cultivating, though a little has been hinted at his meagre family background that could potentially have plot relevance. As of chapter 18, MC is just a ruthless, overbearing, and prideful mc, but the plot is slowly starting. I find this good, as you need time to adjust to the new paradigm mentality and the circumstances of the MC, and I'm eagerly reading to uncover more about the MC, and thus stumble upon the overarching plot in due time. Lastly, this is a pretty new story, so I'm cautious about predicting update stability. (cont. In comments).

I love this novel. The cultivation system are so in depth especially within each stage of each realm which is one of my favorite type of cultivation system. The pace of cultivation advancement is completely reasonable to me, not too fast not too slow. I really like the main character's, Wei Wuyin's, character as well. He's not a complete murder maniac or psychopath but not a saint either. He's a very realistic person with his own bottom line which is admittedly lower than most others but I like it. He's not perfect either. The thing I love the most about him is his scheming personality. The main plot is similar to Villain Cultivator except a lot less explicit sexual content and a lot less harem members but most likely if you liked that you'll like this. There are many "Blessed", people born with high karmic luck, and meant to be your classic Xianxia mc's with their stupid fortuitous encounters, and the MC basically schemes against these Blessed and around their karmic luck. People have said that this novel is borderline NTR or cuckold but I have to disagree. The definition of cuckold and NTR is when your significant other cheats on you. None of the MC's women have cheated on him. Sure, they have been with another man first but never the other way around. The fact that some of the really beautiful women that you think might be in the MC's harem but are instead with another "Blessed" make sense to me because they're "Blessed", they're meant to have beautiful women around them since they are like xianxia mcs. I don't understand the fact that people feel that every women that's described more in depth should be in the MC's harem. You'll eventually see that most of them eventually DO enter into the MC harem. Oops. Spoiler.

One of the best cultivation novels I've ever read, at least top 5 of all time for sure. The characters are extremely well written. The Mc can be seen as the "rich young master" of the novel, but an extremely smart and charismatic one. The novel is well aware of the tropes inside it's genre, and plays really well within them. Every character has a personality of its own, and makes their own decisions based on their personality. Let's not even talk about the world building and cultivation realms, everything is well explained and has a reason, not just the same a to b increases qi by a billion fold. While reviewing this, I come to realize that this is probably top 3 of all time.

Sorry even if i’m biased i’ve read many novels but this one is just personally for me tops them all especially if we’re talking about cultivation novels, it’s nice to have a competent MC, the harem is written well too (harems ain’t bad they just need to be written well, especially if the woman actually take part in the story and aren’t just flower vases after MC gets them) the world building just drags you in, even if there’s info dump I actually want to read it and not skip it, although his cultivation is well behind but you can’t judge just based on that nonetheless i do await for what’s it like when he catches up (i’m assuming he’ll sky rocket with his Mytsic ascenion 👀 dude has like 6 laws already so…). If writer is seeing these messages i have a question as although it was mentioned his parents died but there corpses weren’t really found so does that mean they’re still alive or is there a possibility that they are just curious…?

ANOTHER GREAT NOVEL RUINED is it so hard to focus on the mc its sometimes plus 50 chapters and more of everything else except mc like are u srs man might as well change the focus of the plot to all other characters and make mc the side character another amazing overpowered mc with so much potential ruined by a writer who focus on everone and everything except the who and what the story is mainly about the mc

Was great until around chapter 600, after that it becomes like every other bad written xianxia with jade beauties left and right and no actual progession. The protagonist has been stuck in like the second realm of cultivation for like a thousand chapters.

Dear author, I have much thought long and hard, where to start from, so I sought to follow your example, and start from the beginning. Long after the creation of the universe, there emerged a novel, a creation that sought to etch its mark upon the vast parchment of the Dao of storytelling. This novel, much like the primordial chaos from which the myriad worlds were birthed, contained within it the seeds of immense potential. It was as if the author, in their infinite wisdom, had reached into the very heart of the cosmos, drawing forth the raw materials needed to sculpt a narrative that could stand tall among the titans of the xianxia genre. In these realms, every word uttered by the Daoist sages carries the weight of thousands of years, shaping the very essence of the worlds they inhabit. It is within this grandiose context that we must place the novel in question, understanding that each character, each plot twist, and each meticulously described setting is a reflection of the author's attempt to mirror the complexity and depth of the universe itself. Moving through the dense forests of prose, past the mountains of elaborate descriptions and over the rivers of dialogues that meander without apparent destination, one cannot help but feel a sense of awe at the ambition that drives this literary endeavor. The author, much like a cultivator seeking to break through to the next realm of mastery, has spared no effort in detailing the minutiae of their world. Every leaf that trembles in the wind, every whisper of qi coursing through the veins of our heroes, is rendered with a level of detail that could only be described as excessive. Yet, as we delve deeper into the heart of this creation, wading through the mire of adjectives and the thicket of adverbs, a realization begins to dawn. The narrative, for all its grandeur and scope, seems to drift aimlessly like a leaf caught in a tempestuous sea. The reader, eager to uncover the mysteries and battles that lie ahead, finds themselves ensnared in a web of verbosity, where the true essence of the story is obscured by an impenetrable fog of filler words. Chapters unfurl like the petals of an endless lotus, each one revealing not the promised advancement of plot but rather an additional layer of descriptive extravagance that, while beautiful in isolation, serves little purpose in driving the narrative forward. The cultivation of characters, the very soul of the xianxia narrative, becomes secondary to the author's penchant for prolixity. And so, we arrive, after a journey as long and winding as the path to immortality itself, at the core of our critique. The novel, for all its ambitious attempts to encapsulate the vastness of a xianxia universe, ultimately falls prey to its own excesses. The essence of storytelling, much like the cultivation paths depicted within its pages, requires balance and focus. In the pursuit of painting a universe in all its intricate glory, the author has overlooked the fundamental Dao of narrative economy. In a realm where the economy of spirit stones dictates the accessibility of knowledge and power, the inflation caused by needless verbosity is not just a matter of stylistic preference but a barrier that stands between the reader and the heart of the story. The lesson, it seems, is clear: in the art of storytelling, as in the practice of cultivation, excess can be as much a curse as a boon.

Book used to be so good man. But now plot moves at a snails pace and the harem is never ending. The story is heavily padded with useless bs that no one really cares about( SO MUCH FILLER). I hate about a third of the harem and hope they were never there. Character descriptions are nonexistent and everything is "she was so beautiful" or "her beauty was blinding" all bs that gives us nothing in terms of proper character descriptions. For the harem, no one but the author remembers more than like 5 of them and even then you can barely picture the ones you remember cus the author doesn't know any character description words apart from "beautiful" (used so much I doubt the world has an actual standard for beauty). Also Most of them are just complete leeches in my opinion. Mc spends a crazy amount of time and resources nurturing them and it just gets personally annoying having them basically be the whole plot. Book used to be so good man but the filler.. sad what it has become.

Could you please go back to the way it was at the beginning of the novel , cultivation focused with his wives , because the majority of the later chapters while they are nice, they are filler chapters and sidestories that have no impact on the main story or they do but occupy way too many chapters , it gets frustrating because i can’t follow the main story with too many sidestories. Just wanted to say my opinion , and i love this novel very much actually that’s why i am eager to see him finally advance in cultivation because he has been stuck in the mortal realm for 1500 chapters 😓

Another copy paste novel that when says their MC is dark or non-empathetic, it just means assaulting people in a sexual fashion Nothing crazy or genius goes on here, the mc doesn’t shock you with anything because these stories are written quite often

Muito bom. Um romance com um protagonista que não apenas desafia o céu como também desafia o inferno. Eu gosto da dinâmica do mundo também, é muito parecido com o que eu penso que seria se o mundo de cultivo existir.

Hello author! I would like to ask some questions, if possible, please answer... they are as follows: I would like to know if there is harem in the work, I would like to know if there is ntr or yuri in the work (I hope not), I would also like to know if there would be yanderes among the harem... and the last question, and if the mc really loves the girls, he doesn't just use them and discard them... if you can, please answer!

when you will start reading this novel..At first you would think that MC is not one of those so called typical MCs but more realistic considering the world he is in..but later you will realise that you were wrong he is also one of them even worse in same cases..author has just played with you..but while it has it's flaws..it has it's good points too that's why i was still reading till ch93(enlightenment) where it showed the same major problem which every cultivation novel has regarding cultivation when it comes to people who are closed to mc..if you have read cultivation novels you know what I am taking about...about which I have talked in detailing in ch93 and to completely confirmed it I read it till 124 where it was confirmed..that's where i dropped this novel because I know it will only get worse and worse..and one more thing if you are reading it for romance and harem aspect then you can read on your own risk because it will definitely affect your mental peace while this aspect has not started clearly till chap124 but reading it till there i know and you will also know if you read till there that where story is going in this aspect..and literally if you truly want mental peace..you can guess..but if you can ignore it's one or two major issues and some flaws here and there..then you might enjoy this novel longer...

Gotta say, not much to criticize here, author's writing style is good, world is intriguing with all the mysteries around the protagonist, I will say though, the pace could be better, yes, I appreciate the author for fleshing out the world and its characters, but so many events that should have taken one chapter were dragged out unnecessarily, which leads you to the current slow progression of MC, and I don't mean slow as in his talent, but the progress to chapter ratio is just not there(Unless Kevin has something big planned to justify it later).

Well, as of chapter 1400 something, I've got to say I'm immensely disappointed with how everything turned out. I mean the story was an absolute banger at the start and for like 700ish chapters, but then, he got to the Grand Cyclic Stellar region and dear lord what in the world happened, the story went from being about the MC to being about almost every single member of his organisation except him ... As of 1200 or something, there is no more story development, just secondary character getting screen time reacting to MC strenghts, mistery or some nonsense. I'm extremely sad for a story that went from my favorite of all time that I used to spend a lot of money supporting the author for his awesome work to one of my most disappoiting ones ... Hope it get better someday are Kevin finds back his drive and get the pacing of his story under control and stop writing about every single secondary character which is literaly the meaning of a "SECONDARY" character, not supposed to be a story about them ...
