Absolutely love this book! I loved watching the MCs personality change from a young teen stuck with romantic issues taking on challenges he wasn’t prepared for to a grown adult capable of putting the greater planetary-scale interests before his own personal affairs.
The early chapters may be a bit hard to read but if you put yourself in the MCs shoes during your hormonal years, I’m sure you will be able to relate to his issues. The overall plot is much more serious and bigger than the MC and so it’s worthwhile to stick to the book and keep reading. You won’t regret it.
The writing quality has improved by leaps and bounds over the course of the book and the story is not very predictable making you wait to see how things actually turn out. The author is very interactdive in the discord community which makes it a very refreshing reading experience, you should definitely check it out.

I started this series a while back and the beginning didn’t exactly entice me but with nothing else to read I decided to give it a second chance and I’m incredibly glad I did.
The series starts off rough but by the second volume it really finds its footing and starts heating up. It’s always had strongly written characters but they really started developing towards the end of the end of the first volume and I couldn’t put it down.
I see a lot of negative comments when reading but I just can’t understand them, you can really feel the love the author has for writing and the characters and that is what makes for a good novel.
If you tried this series before but decided to drop it I really recommend picking it back up because you are missing out my friend.
Thanks to the author for building an awesome world and writing an amazing story!

Story is good but very slow and emery is a bit lacking as a mc and man, very indecisive and terrible at anything romance related he just gets dragged along by all girls and always ends with heartbreak. The world building and lore is great, I have a question tho for author. Will Silva ever come back and is the story harem or not?

OMG!!! The protagonist is a serious case of pig teammate I have ever seen, he's like a jynx, everything touching it has bad luck. Despite the use of many historical legens and overall great writing quality, the intent behind actions and motivation of the characters ( near protagonist) is too shallow, and let's not talk about protagonist's ego......he bulldoze into danger not caring about his friends and others, honestly, I pity for all the supporting characters in the story who have become cannon fodder..... The single feeling I have about the story is the protagonist is one massive masochist

I only read up to ch.31
I think this would be a good choice for those who like slow burn novels. The pacing was a bit too slow for my liking, resulting in me dropping. The grammar can be a bit iffy, at least up to where I read, but nothing too bad.
I thought the overall idea was cool, but like I said, it was too slow for me, The 'Mc' didn't really feel like one to me, Just didn't really like the vibe he gave off.

I'm torn reading this honestly i like it but there's just so many elements that prevents this from being great.
Romance - poor or down right terrible, if you're not into harem don't touch this. Author tries to create a complex level net but fails completely.
Power system - honestly barely makes sense if compared with other novels. What I mean is each rank in the first stage you might as well treat as a big rank in any other novel. I honesltly keep think this could've been handled better.
Story - i like the story when you cut out the fluff (it gets repetitive after the 5 tournament,.or the hundredth arena fight etc). The integration of earth myths into a magi story is awesome.
Characters - characters are likeable with their own individual personality, down side MC is a full blown idiot there's no two ways to put this.
Plot armor - the use of plot armor in this is HEAVY!!!! and that's putting it mildly.

This review is currently when I’ve read up to chapter 1964. Yes yes yes, I know MC seems weak and the story is slow but when I tell you it’s worth it when you get past some chapters everything starts moving like a freight train! The world building is awesome, side characters are as interesting as the main! I know this book may not be ranked 1# but personally… this book is VERYYY underrated due to the beginning of the novel. It is and will always be the BEST book on WebNovel.

I haven't read this but will Mc get a harem or not. I don't really like it when Mc's be surrounded by girls but in the end he chooses one. if I want single girl then I would just read pure love story and series with that alignment. so will this be harem and if so is it the girls who have their character listed below the description?

Summary, giving two stars is definitely conservative, but 1 star is not enough and it would seem like another pointless act, there are three topics to discuss, the first, the MC starts off weak and they will constantly remind you how untalented he is and the effort he must put in , when he finally gains some strength, with an excuse taken out of nowhere, he weakens and loses to opponents with whom he lost when he was much weaker, super frustrating. Secondly, romance, no wait, that is not romance, it is no longer a matter of monogamy or polygamy, it is a matter of when he approaches a girl, you are together and they give you satisfaction only for a couple of chapters, to then give, as in the case mentioned above, a nonsensical reason to walk away again, trust me, I'm not exaggerating, it's super frustrating. Third and lastly, the MC is too naive, trust me, more than you think, I also underestimated others when I read it, but I understand them, it is immature, there is almost no character development, and it seems that he has as a proverb constantly in his head that says "go where you are not called" or "give a second chance to your enemies and those who despise you to be stabbed in the back again, until chapter 500 it is not worth it, from the comments that I read, it doesn't get better, and even if it does, which it doesn't, it's seriously not even worth wasting time on 500 chapters just for some good ones, I don't think so. If you don't believe me, read until chapter 471, you will understand what I'm talking about.

author is shameless , why did mc make the complicated relationship, why he can't stand with a single girl when I read the relationship between the mc and other girls my ache plz stop this and mc should stand with a single girl (klea) but the overall story is awesome but the relationships part is sad for me .

Just finished volume three, and in one chapter I’m considering dropping it. I did not like the Klea and Julian thing, so I looked it up only to see a comment saying they’re still messing with Emery 1700 chapters in?? Can anyone tell me if it gets better? I don’t care much for love interests playing with the MC like that, but I could deal if it ended. But 1100 chapters past this point is a bit much in my opinion.

Spoiler AlertRead up to 413 and I must say that, while I really endorse the overall idea and originality in some parts of the novel, I'm getting seemingly more frustrated with the writing style of the author.Don't get me wrong while I don't think it itself is that bad I find it severely lacking in quite some ways. One of them is the lack of details in a lot situations. It is relatively fast paced which is actually a rather good thing in my book but it annoys me that there are scenes that are handled in just a few paragraphs that have the ability to make the immersion so much better and deeper.An example would be the elite class courses that are shortened in a paragraph each at some point while it is such an amazing opportunity for the author to tell the readers more about the world and to suck them in while making it more clearly seen why the elite class is as important as claimed like a dozen times before. The way the author handled it left me just unsatisfied and that is sadly true for a lot parts of the novel.Another point would that there are nearly zero interactions for Emery with people outside the ("main") side characters. Obviously there some here and there but all in all I find myself thirsting for more to get to know Emery - and not only him - better because to be honest I think maybe the worst thing in the book might be the overall flat characters. We might get some background information for some of them but it can take hundreds of chapters for some which would be fine by me if only I could tell what type of person they are. Often they are just described shortly and with relative basic information so that you can have a really vague picture of them but it doesn't get to a more concrete point in a lot of causes.It also doesn't help that the novel uses a lot - and when I say a lot I mean a lot - of introperspection and summaries instead of dialogues and more detailed scenes.Additionally the author doesn't seem to know how to use the plural of a lot of words and while my grammar itself is quite bad if I must read Magus as plural of Magus instead of Magi one more time I don't know what will happen... No, jokes besides, the grammar might be relative bad or at least inconsistent but I definitely read quite a number of novels on this side that are a lot worse with doesn't diminish that this definitely should be improved/edited by the author.Maybe the last point at least for now is the predictionable path some of the plots in the novel took. An example for this would be stage 3 of the "Magus Games" (:-/) where Emery obviously wouldn't be able to win all of his five games - which I find quite realistic and fair - and had to fight and lose in the third round against the strongest acolyte of the second year like I could already see coming the moment that the format of the third stage was revealed...So... All in all it is an interesting story which I would love to read more of it only if the novel could draw me in more than it does at this point. Of course this is only my opinion and in the end it only matters that the author is happy with the story he told but me personally the novel couldn't really captivate me outside some great parts - that are there as well - although I really love the setting mostly because the writing style clearly isn't to my liking, so the 3 star overall review.Nevertheless I think that it might still a good read and fit for others since only because I don't get along with the writing style doesn't mean the same is true for another person. ^^

They may be adults but emery and his friends act like 10y olds. First the thing with gwen where they all dont know what they want so they play around in their relastionship, then thrax who looses everything and after some chapters hes suddenly ok with it, then there is Julius who wants to get a great position for some reason that is important enough to go against thrax (i thought he wants power for family and friends), where he knows that he is in the wrong and the romans are no saints but he wants the power out of greed and lies to thrax who trusts him to a certain extend. Now thrax friends are dead and they are like Welp happens. Chumo is cool. Klea is just klea thats how i imagine ancient egyptian women and morgane is atleast understandable. They really need more characterdevelopment and i dont mean just chumo not beeing scared of woman anymore

I love the story so far. Some things annoy me with what the characters do or how certain people act given their role/job, but I love how it plays out. definitely something you can lose yourself in reading
